Warner’s ‘Black Adam’ Tops Weekly U.K. Home Entertainment Sales Chart in Debut

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s DC Comics anti-hero Black Adam made a heroic sales debut at No. 1 on the U.K. weekly home entertainment sales chart for the period ending Jan. 25.
Starring Dwayne Johnson as the title role, Adam dropped Warner’s previous week chart topper, Elvis, to the No. 3 spot. The biopic just scored eight Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor (Austin Butler).
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Halloween Ends returned from the dead and into the The Official Film Chart’s top 10 following its release on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray.
After securing Oscar noms for stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon as well as writer-director Martin McDonagh, 20th Century Studios’ The Banshees Of Inisherin rose one spot to No. 4, while Paramount Home Entertainment’s Best Picture nominee Top Gun: Maverick dropped to No. 5.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s high-speed thriller Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as assassins, ricocheted back into the top 10 at No. 6.
After its digital release, 20th Century Studios’ black comedy-horror The Menu entered the chart for the first time at No. 9. Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult star as a couple attending a master chef’s (Ralph Fiennes) invite-only restaurant, where things take a turn for the murderous.
Finally, up 13 spots from the previous week, Universal’s Downton Abbey: A New Era rounded out the top 10 chart.
