Virgil to Serve Up Doc ‘Sex, Drugs & and Hospitality’ Sept. 17 on DVD and Digital

Virgil Films will release the documentary Sex, Drugs & Hospitality, featuring stories from the service industry subculture, on DVD and digital Sept. 17.

The feature-length documentary offers an in-depth look at the realities of working in the service industry — front of house, back of house, behind the bar and behind the scenes. The documentary is filmed in multiple locations across the United States and Europe to show how the industry works differently in different parts of the world. From dive bars to Michelin Star restaurants, the film follows real people giving their point of view of what goes on in the industry.

An underdog story about societal misfits looking for respect and recognition, the film covers a workplace familiar to millions, with 50 million Americans having worked in the service industry at one time or another and more than 16 million Europeans currently working in hospitality.
