Universal’s ‘Minions: The Rise of Gru’ Jumps to No. 1 on U.K. Home Entertainment Sales Chart

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Minions: The Rise of Gru climbed to No. 1 on the Official Film Chart, the U.K. weekly retail sales chart, for the week ended Oct. 26.

Following its release on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray, The Rise of Gru — the sequel to Minions, which is itself a spin-off prequel to the “Despicable Me” series — knocked off the previous week’s chart-topper, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s Bullet Train, to claim the No. 1 U.K. film spot for the week, climbing two spots and pushing the Brad Pitt-starrer down to No. 2.

Universal’s Jurassic World Dominion dropped to No. 3, while Sony’s drama-thriller Where the Crawdads Sing, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, held the No. 4 spot, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s biopic Elvis held on to its No. 5 spot.

Paramount Home Entertainment’s Top Gun: Maverick rebounded to No. 6, while recent Disney/Marvel Studios’ chart-topper Thor: Love and Thunder dropped one spot to No. 7.

Universal’s Sing 2 enjoyed another week in the top 10 at No. 8, just ahead of Downton Abbey: A New Era at No. 9. Warner’s animated adventure DC League of Super-Pets, starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, rounded out the chart at No. 10.
