Universal Pictures’ Thriller ‘Knock at the Cabin’ Available on PVOD/PEST

Universal Pictures’ thriller Knock at the Cabin is now available on premium VOD and premium digital purchase, priced at $19.99 and $24.99, respectively.
Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the movie is hitting digital retail channels 21 days after its Feb. 3 box office debut — in line with Universal’s strategy releasing select theatrical titles early into retail channels. The movie generated almost $48 million in global ticket sales, including $31 million across North American screens.
Universal’s decision to offer Knock at the Cabin at retail outside the traditional theatrical 45-day window follows a pattern established with horror thriller M3GAN, which also was released on PVOD/PEST 21 days after its theatrical debut.
It remains to be seen whether Cabin will be follow M3GAN‘s retail time line, which includes a traditional VOD and digital sellthrough pricing release on Feb. 24 (one month after PVOD), followed by a packaged-media release on March 21.
