‘Top Gun’ Reclaims No. 1 on U.K. Home Entertainment Sales Chart

Paramount Pictures’ 1986 aerial actioner Top Gun reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Official Film Chart the week ended June 8, holding off the previous week’s No. 1, Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Batman, which dropped to No. 2.

Featuring Tom Cruise in the prequel to current box office juggernaut Top Gun: Maverick, the original movie returned atop the U.K. sales chart due to sales of DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray and digital downloads.

Universal Pictures’ Sing 2 (No. 3), Sony Pictures’ Uncharted (No. 4) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (No. 5) held their places from last week, finishing ahead of this week’s highest new entry Lancaster (Altitude), which tells the story of the WW2 bomber through the words of the last surviving crew members, archive material and aerial footage.

Warner’s The Matrix Resurrections (No. 7) and Dune (No. 8) finished ahead of Paramount’s Clifford: The Big Red Dog (No. 9), which climbed three spots to finish ahead of Disney’s Encanto (No. 10).
