‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Tops Disc Sales Charts for Third Week

Paramount Home Entertainment’s Top Gun: Maverick remained No. 1 for the third consecutive week on the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended Nov. 19.
With many stores offering early Black Friday deals, the margins between the “Top Gun” sequel and the rest of the field narrowed a bit. The No. 2 seller on the overall disc sales chart, Universal Pictures’ Jurassic World Dominion, which sold about half as many units as Maverick during the week. The sixth “Jurassic” film is in its 14th week on shelves. It was No. 3 on the Blu-ray Disc chart.
The No. 2 Blu-ray seller, and No. 3 on the overall disc chart, was Warner’s The Batman, the superhero reboot from director Matt Reeves that was released on disc six months ago.
With 55% of its sales for the week coming from its 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version, The Batman was the top 4K disc seller during the week. Maverick was No. 3.

No. 4 overall, and No. 5 on the Blu-ray chart, was Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: No Way Home. No. 5 overall was Universal’s Minions: The Rise of Gru (No. 9 on the Blu-ray chart).
The No. 4 Blu-ray seller was Lionsgate’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, which was the No. 7 overall seller. It was No. 2 on the 4K chart.
The week’s top newcomer, debuting at No. 17 overall and No. 8 on the Blu-ray chart, was Lionsgate’s Pearl, the horror prequel to the film X from earlier in the year. Blu-ray accounted for 85% of its unit sales.
The Media Play News rental chart for the week ended Nov. 20 had Top Gun: Maverick again at No. 1, with Warner’s Three-Thousand Years of Longing debuting at No. 2.
Sony Pictures’ Bullet Train slid a spot to No. 3, while Universal’s Nope was No. 4.
The No. 5 rental was the direct-to-video franchise extension R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned, from Universal.
