‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Returns to Top of U.K. Home Entertainment Sales Chart Following Disc Release

Paramount Home Entertainment’s perennial chart topper Top Gun: Maverick returned to the No. 1 spot on the U.K.’s Official Film Chart for the week ended Nov. 9 following its release on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray. The achievement marks the fifth time the Tom Cruise starrer has been tops in retail sales.

Specifically, Maverick sold more than 100,000 discs, with the box set featuring the original 1986 Top Gun and Maverick finishing No. 2.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Jurassic World Dominion moved up one spot to No. 3, while Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Elvis biopic finished No. 4. Low-budget slasher film Terrifier 2 dropped to No. 5, as Universal’s Minions: The Rise of Gru slid three spots to No. 6.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s actioner Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt, ended the week at No. 7, with Warner’s The Batman at No. 8, and Universal’s Sing 2 and Downton Abbey: A New Era rounding out the Top 10.
