‘The Secret: Dare to Dream’ Tops Redbox Charts

Lionsgate’s The Secret: Dare to Dream debuted at No. 1 on the Redbox disc and digital charts the week ended Sept. 27.

Based on the 2006 self-help book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, the movie stars Katie Holmes as a widowed mother of three who meets a handyman (Josh Lucas) who inspires her with the power of positive thinking.

No. 2 on both the disc rental chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at the company’s more than 40,000 red kiosks, and the Redbox On Demand chart, which tracks digital rental transactions, was Redbox’s own Ava, a thriller starring Jessica Chastain as an assassin.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Irresistible, which was the top disc rental the previous three weeks, dropped to No. 3 on the disc chart, followed by Lionsgate’s Rogue at No. 4. Newcomer Most Wanted, from Paramount, debuted at No. 5 on the disc chart.
