‘The Little Things’ Debuts at No. 1 on Disc Sales Charts

After a month of Warner’s Wonder Woman 1984 dominating Blu-ray Disc and DVD sales, a new No. 1 emerged the week ended May 8.

It was another Warner title, The Little Things, that emerged as No. 1 on the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined Blu-ray Disc and DVD unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart. The crime thriller with Denzel Washington was released on disc May 4 after earning $15.24 million from a domestic box office run when it was also available on HBO Max for a month.

Wonder Woman 1984 dropped to No. 2 after five weeks in the top spot. In its sixth week, it sold 80% as many copies as Little Things in its first week.

A third Warner title, the historical drama Judas and the Black Messiah, debuted at No. 3 on the overall disc sales chart and No. 4 on the Blu-ray Disc chart.

The No. 4 overall disc and No. 5 Blu-ray was the Tom Hanks-starring Western News of the World, from Universal Pictures.

The No. 5 overall disc seller was Warner’s Rush Hour Trilogy collection.

Blu-ray Disc accounted for 47% of total The Little Things sales, and 55% for that of Judas.

The only other newcomer in the top 10, debuting at No. 8 overall and N0. 7 on the Blu-ray chart, was Lionsgate’s The Virtuoso, a thriller about a hitman (Anson Mount) who is sent on a cryptic assignment by his mentor (Anthony Hopkins).
