‘The Last Duel’ Heading to Digital Nov. 30, Disc December 14

Disney-owned 20th Century Studios’ historical epic The Last Duel will be released to home audiences in the coming weeks.

The film, which earned $10.5 million in North American theaters, will become available through digital retailers on Nov. 30, followed by a Dec. 14 release on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.

The Last Duel unravels the true story about France’s last sanctioned duel, when King Charles VI declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges settle his dispute with his squire, Jacques Le Gris, by challenging him to a duel, which took place in 1386. De Carrouges’ wife had accused Le Gris of rape.

The film bombed — its worldwide gross was just $23 million, against a production budget in excess of $100 million — despite a wealth of big-name talent. The Last Duel was directed by Ridley Scott and stars Academy Award winners Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, alongside Jodie Comer and Adam Driver.

The home release includes the documentary “The Making of The Last Duel,” in which Scott talks about his collaboration with cast and crew to make critical decisions about location, cinematography and performances.
