‘The Batman’ Debut Tops U.K. Home Entertainment Sales Chart

The U.K. retail arrival of Warner Bros. Pictures’ latest movie adaptation of DC Comics superhero The Batman didn’t disappoint, easily topping The Official Film Chart for the week ended June 1. The actioner knocked off the 1986 original Top Gun from its brief stint the previous week at No. 1 on the chart.

The Tom Cruise-starrer finished No. 2 in its 14th week on the chart, followed by Universal Pictures’ animated musical sequel Sing 2, which finished No. 3 in its seventh week on the chart. Former chart topper Uncharted saw the Sony Pictures’ video game-themed actioner co-starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg finish No. 4, followed by Holland again in the studio’s other former chart topper Spider-Man: No Way Home at No. 5.

Other former chart toppers in the top 10 included Warner Bros. Pictures’ Dune at No. 8 and Disney’s Encanto at No. 6. The former’s The Matrix Resurrections finished No. 7, while Paramount Pictures’ Jackass Forever finished No. 9.

Finally, the debut of 1998’s Wild Things: Limited Edition release from Arrow Films ended the week at No. 10.
