

‘Tenet’ Leads Disc Sales in January

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Tenet rolled into January the same way it finished out December — as the month’s top-selling disc.
The latest thriller from director Christopher Nolan was No. 1 on the top 10 list of combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales for January 2021 according to the NPD Group’s VideoScan tracking service. Tenet had spent two weeks during the month — the weeks ended Jan. 16 ans 23 — as the top-selling weekly disc, after topping the weekly chart three weeks in December.
Th month’s No. 2 seller was the movie that topped the weekly chart the first full week of 2021 — Paramount’s Love and Monsters, a post-apocalyptic romp about a man searching for his girlfriend in a world overrun by monsters.
The latest Liam Neeson actioner, Universal Pictures’ Honest Thief, released on disc the last week of 2020, was January’s No. 3 seller.

Paramount’s Yellowstone: Season 3 remained on the monthly top 10, taking No. 4 for January, down a spot from December.
Rounding out the month’s top five was a catalog title, Paramount’s Top Gun — the 1986 action classic about jet fighter pilots that has a sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, slated for this summer.

‘Tenet’ Leads Disc Sales in December While ‘Frozen II’ Finishes as Top Seller for 2020
