Chinese Actioner ‘Undercover Punch & Gun’ Due on Hi-Yah! Streaming Service May 7, Digital and Disc June 8 From Well Go

The Chinese action film Undercover Punch & Gun will debut exclusively on the martial arts streaming service Hi-Yah! May 7 and will come out on digital, Blu-ray and DVD June 8 with an new English dub from Well Go USA Entertainment.

In the action-packed MMA thriller, while an elite cop is working undercover to infiltrate a notorious drug ring, his plan is compromised when a rival agency with a grudge attacks during a trade, killing the gang’s leader. Their cover blown, both teams are forced to unite and take to the high seas in an attempt to overthrow the ruthless smuggler behind it all.

From first-time co-directors Lui Koon Nam and Frankie Tam, the film stars Philip Ng (Enter the Fat Dragon, Chasing the Dragon), Van Ness Wu (Ip Man 4, Dragon Blade) and Andy On (Special ID, Once Upon a Time in Shanghai ) with the action fight sequences choreographed by Ng.

The Korean box office hit Deliver Us From Evil will debut on digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD May 25 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

The film stars Hwang Jung-min (The WailingThe Spy Gone North), Lee Jung-jae (Tazza: One-Eyed JackAlong with the Gods franchise), Park Jeong-min (Svaha: The Sixth Finger), Park Soi (Parasite) and Choi Moon (Anarchist from ColonyOkja).

In the film, after the shocking kidnapping of a little girl in Thailand, a mercenary with a murky past as a government black ops agent (Hwang) is forced to re-emerge from the shadows when he learns the incident is closely connected to him. With the help of expat Yui (Park), he flies to Thailand and begins tracking the girl’s whereabouts, moving ever closer to the notorious child trafficking ring responsible for her abduction. However, when an infamous gangster nicknamed The Butcher (Lee) learns just who has entered the country and is finally within his grasp, he goes on a bloody rampage to thwart the ex-agent’s rescue mission as retaliation for a killing that even he will never be able to forget — or forgive.

The Japanese action epic Crazy Samurai: 400 vs. 1 will debut exclusively on the martial arts streaming service Hi-Yah! Feb. 12, before hitting digital, Blu-ray and DVD March 2 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

Director Yuji Shimomura (Death TranceRe: Born) crafts action choreography around leading Japanese martial arts icon Tak Sakaguchi (VersusRise of the Machine Girl) who plays Japan’s most legendary swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi (1584-1645), a warrior undefeated in at least 60 documented duels. When the master samurai arrives to duel the disgraced Yoshioka dojo, he walks into an ambush.

The film includes a 77-minute action sequence shot in one continuous take in which Musashi (Sakaguchi) fights for his life against 400 warriors, earning a place in history as the Crazy Samurai Musashi.

Animated Chinese Film ‘Jiang Ziya’ to Debut on Digital and Disc Feb. 9

The Chinese animated family film Jiang Ziya debuts on digital, Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 9 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

The film is the follow-up to Ne Zha and the second chapter in the magical Fengshen Cinematic Universe. In the film, to earn his place amongst the gods, celestial army commander Jiang Ziya must vanquish a terrifying fox demon threatening the very existence of the mortal realm. After learning the creature’s fate is tied to that of a young girl, Jiang Ziya disobeys Heaven’s edict and spares the demon, resulting in his banishment to the mortal realm. Ten years later, he is given one more chance to complete the task, and Jiang Ziya must decide: is joining the ranks of the heavens worth the price of one innocent life?

Korean Epic ‘The Swordsman’ Bows on Digital and Disc Feb. 16

The Korean action film The Swordsman will swing to digital, Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 16 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

In the hybrid of mainstream historical drama and traditional martial arts action, after failing to protect and prevent the downfall of the King, the best swordsman in Joseon leaves and lives in seclusion with his daughter in the mountains. As his eyesight begins to fail due to an old injury, his daughter seeks to find a treatment for him. When she is captured and taken away by a slave trader, the swordsman is forced to raise his sword again in order to save her.

The Swordsman was directed by Choi Jae-hoon and stars Jang Hyuk as the main character.

The film was released theatrically in South Korea in September. The Swordsman was invited to the 40th annual Hawaii International Film Festival and was picked as the opening film in the 2020 Korean Indonesian Film Festival.

 

Sci-fi Thriller ‘Synchronic’ Coming to Digital Jan. 12, Disc Jan. 26 From Well Go

When New Orleans paramedics and longtime best friends Steve (Mackie) and Dennis (Dornan) are called to a series of bizarre, gruesome accidents, they chalk it up to the mysterious new party drug found at the scene. But after Dennis’s oldest daughter suddenly disappears, Steve stumbles upon a terrifying truth about the supposed psychedelic that will challenge everything he knows about reality — and the flow of time itself.
