The Chinese thriller The Captain will come out on DVD and Blu-ray from Well Go USA Entertainment March 31.

The drama stars Shu Chen, Hanyu Zhang, Jiang Du and Qin Li and is directed by Andrew Lau Wai-Keung.

On the morning of May 14th, 2018, Airbus flight A319 is thrown into a state of panic when the cockpit windshield shatters after takeoff. Cabin temperatures plummet, passengers are losing consciousness, and all communication to control is lost. Heading into an enormous storm with the co-pilot sucked halfway out of the cockpit window, the plane’s strong-willed Captain, Liu Chuan Jian, is determined to bring everyone home safely.

Japanese Film ‘First Love’ Coming on Disc From Well Go Feb. 11

Well Go USA Entertainment will release the Japanese film First Love on digital, Blu-ray combo pack and DVD Feb. 11.

First Love is prolific auteur Takashi Miike’s noir-tinged yakuza film blending genres. It follows the story of a young boxer and a call girl, who fall passionately in love while getting innocently caught up in a drug-smuggling scheme over the course of one night in Tokyo.

It stars Masataka Kubota, Nao Omori, Shota Sometani and Sakurako Konishi.

The film had a limited U.S. theatrical release in September and October.

Chinese Animated Fantasy ‘Ne Zha’ Due on Digital Feb. 25, Disc — Including 4K — March 3 From Well Go

The Chinese animated fantasy-adventure Ne Zha will come out on digital Feb. 25 and on DVD, Blu-ray combo pack and 4K Ultra Blu-ray combo pack March 3 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

The release is dubbed in English.

Ne Zha is the first animated film selected as the Chinese entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.

First-time feature film director Jiaozi brings to the screen the story of a boy with unique powers who is recruited to fight demons and save the community that initially fears him. The boy, Nezha, is birthed from a heavenly pearl by the Primeval Lord of Heaven. Born with unique powers, Nezha finds himself as an outcast who is hated and feared. Destined by prophecy to bring destruction to the world, he must choose between good and evil in order to break the shackles of fate and become the hero.

The film has earned more than $700.5 million at the global box office.

Chinese Action Epic ‘Warriors of the Nation’ Coming to Digital and Disc Feb. 18 From Well Go

The Chinese martial arts action epic Warriors of the Nation will debut on digital and Blu-ray combo pack Feb. 18 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

In the film, after the Sino-Japanese War, the Japanese army tries to once again gain control in China by hiring a secret organization, the White Lotus Society, to kidnap the military minister. Wong Fei-Hung and his disciples must stop this attack to prevent another war from starting.

The film is directed by Marco Mak (chief editor on Once Upon a Time in China) and stars Wenzhuo Zhao (Once Upon a Time in ChinaTrue Legend), newcomer Lubing Li, Miya Muqi (The Monkey King 2) and Kenya Sawada (Street Fighter).

Korean War Film ‘Battle of Jangsari’ Due on Disc From Well Go Jan. 28

The Korean War film Battle of Jangsari will come out on DVD and Blu-ray combo pack Jan. 28 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

In the film, a small, inexperienced battalion of student soldiers are tasked with liberating the strategic locations of Incheon at a critical point in the Korean War in 1950. With little ammunition, low food supplies and second-hand weapons, the soldiers head for the frontlines of Jangsari beach. The film is based on the true story of a group of 772 student soldiers who staged a small diversionary operation at the beach to draw away North Korean attention from Incheon.

Co-directed by Kwak Kyung-taek (Friend) and Kim Tae-hun (Iris 2), the film’s cast includes Kim Myung-min (Detective K), Choi Min-ho of K-pop boy band SHINee and Megan Fox (Transformers).
