Whip Media: ‘True Lies’ Top New Show, ‘Shadow and Bone’ Top Returning Show, ‘John Wick 4’ Top Movie Anticipated in March

CBS’s “True Lies” was the top anticipated new show, Netflix’s “Shadow and Bone” was the most anticipated returning show, and Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4 was the top anticipated movie on the Whip Media charts for March.

“True Lies,” which debuts March 1, is based on the 1994 James Cameron action-comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a secret agent with an unsuspecting wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) who gets caught up in his latest mission. The series has the couple (played by Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga) working together on assignments.

“Shadow and Bone” returns for its second season March 16. The fantasy series is based on the books about an orphan girl with special powers.

John Wick: Chapter 4, the next installment in the action series starring Keanu Reeves as a legendary hitman, debuts in theaters March 22.

Top anticipated movies available to stream in March include Murder Mystery 2, a mystery sequel starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, streaming on Netflix starting March 31, and Tetris, about the genesis of the popular video game, streaming on Apple TV+ beginning March 31.

Dubbed the most expensive TV season ever with a production budget of $715 million, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is a fantasy series based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien and is set thousands of years before The Hobbit. The series debuted Sept. 1.

“Fate: The Winx Saga,” season two of which is set to start streaming on Netflix Sept. 16, is a teen drama based on the Nickelodeon animated series. The live-action series follows a group of fairies at a boarding school.

Directed by Olivia Wilde, the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling stars Harry Styles and Florence Pugh. It follows a 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community.

Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ Top New Show, Netflix’s ‘Space Force’ Top Returning Show Anticipated in February

Prime Video’s “Reacher” was the top anticipated new show, Netflix’s “Space Force” was the most anticipated returning show, and Sony Pictures’ Uncharted was the top anticipated movie on the Whip Media charts for February.

“Reacher,” which starts streaming on Prime Video Feb. 4, is based on the book series by Lee Child. In the series, Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator, has recently entered civilian life when he is falsely accused of murder.

The second season of the comedy series “Space Force” starts streaming on Netflix Feb. 18. Season 2 picks up with General Naird (Steve Carrell) and his underdog team having to prove their worth to a new administration while dealing with interpersonal challenges.

Uncharted, debuting in theaters Feb. 18, follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and his wisecracking partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) as they embark on a dangerous quest to find treasure while also tracking clues that may lead to Nate’s long-lost brother.

Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ Top Returning Show, Disney+’s ‘Book of Boba Fett’ Top New Show Anticipated in December

Netflix’s “The Witcher” was the most anticipated returning show, Disney+’s “The Book of Boba Fett” was the top anticipated new show, and Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home was the top anticipated movie on the Whip Media chart for December.

Netflix took all five spots on the returning shows chart, and none of the spots on the new shows chart.

Netflix’s “The Witcher,” which begins streaming its second season Dec. 17, is a fantasy drama based on the book series. It stars Henry Cavill as the witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter.

“The Book of Boba Fett” debuts Dec. 29. It follows the exploits of bounty hunter Boba Fett in the “Star Wars” universe.

Spider-Man: No Way Home, only in theaters starting Dec. 15, is the third film starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and also stars Zendaya. With Spider-Man’s identity revealed, Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange.
