Supernatural Horror Film ‘Don’t Look Away’ Headed to Theaters Sept. 1, VOD Oct. 3 From Level 33

Level 33 Entertainment will release the supernatural horror film Don’t Look Away in theaters on Sept. 1 and on VOD Oct. 3.

In the film inspired by the video game Stay Close, after a gang of criminals unintentionally unleashes a supernatural force onto the world, a young woman named Frankie is convinced she’s being stalked by a killer mannequin. Frankie soon realizes that her friends are in jeopardy, too. She must find the man who holds the key to stopping the killings, but Frankie knows that once you see the mannequin, there may be no end in sight, except for your own.

The film stars Kelly Bastard (Tommy and the King), Michael Mitton, Colm Hill (Okja, 5G: The ReckoningmyPhone), Rene Lai (Bully, At the Ends of the Earth), Abu Bukuly, Micheal Bafaro, Brittany Pilgrim, Sophie Thom, Jason Haney and Vanessa Nostbakken. The film is produced by Bafaro, Mitton and James C. Clayton (Bullet Proof, The Ice Road, 5G: The Reckoning) and executive produced by Evan Tylor (“American Mary,” “Van Helsing”) and Caterina Scrivano (“American Mary,”  Bullet Proof, Residue).

 

Supernatural Thriller ‘Nefarious’ Due on Disc Aug. 15 From Mill Creek

The supernatural thriller Nefarious will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Aug. 15 from Mill Creek Entertainment.

Based on the book A Nefarious Plot by New York Times best-selling author Steve Deace, the film grossed $5.4 million in theatrical release.

In the film, on the day of his scheduled execution, a convicted serial killer gets a last-minute court-ordered psychiatric evaluation. The killer surprises the psychiatrist with his claim that instead of trying to avoid his fate, he is in fact a demon who wants the execution to go forward — and further claims that before their brief time together is over, the doctor will have committed three murders of his own.

The film stars Sean Patrick Flanery (Powder, “The Boys,” The Boondock Saints), Jordan Belfi (“Entourage,” “Chicago Fire,” “Scandal”), James Healy Jr. (Tulsa King, “The Staircase,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”) and Cameron Arnett (“Star Trek: The Next Generation,” I Still Believe, Running the Bases).

Gravitas Ventures Acquires North American Rights to Thriller ‘The Unseen’

Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to the supernatural thriller The Unseen and will release the film June 30 in theaters and on demand.

Neurodiverse multihyphenate Jennifer A. Goodman (“Better Call Saul,” “Conrad”) wrote, starred in, and produced the film under her banner Lakefront Pictures alongside co-founder Ryan Atkins, who also oversaw post-production.

Directed by Vincent Shade, the film also stars R.J. Mitte (“Breaking Bad”), Christian Stolte (“Chicago Fire”), William Mark McCullough (“The Walking Dead”), Sue Cremin (“FBI”), Candice Rose (“Stranger Things”), Kimberly Michelle Vaughn (“Empire”), Ava Bianchi and Rebekah Kennedy (“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”).

In The Unseen, a law student (Mitte) finds himself losing his mind in a twisted web of murder and deceit brought on by a dark force from his past.

“As a person on the autism spectrum who has struggled throughout my life, I am honored to be able to bring this film to a large audience, supporting people whose voices may go unheard through my work and to open up peoples’ perspectives to a whole universe of creativity,” Goodman said in a statement.

Thriller ‘Disquiet’ Available Digitally Feb. 10

The supernatural thriller Disquiet will be released in theaters and via on demand and digital Feb. 10 from Paramount Home Entertainment and SP Media Group.

In the film, after a near-fatal car accident, Sam (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) wakes to discover he is trapped in an abandoned hospital by mysterious and sinister forces that have no intention of letting him leave.

The film also stars Rachelle Goulding, Elyse Levesque, Lochlyn Munro, Garry Chalk, Trezzo Mahoro, Anita Brown and Bradley Stryker.

 

Saban’s Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Control’ Available Digitally Sept. 27

The supernatural sci-fi thriller Control will be available in select theaters on Sept. 23 and via on demand and digital starting Sept. 27 from Saban Films.

Directed by James Mark, the film stars Sara Mitich, George Tchortov and Evie Loiselle. In the film, a mother locked inside a stark room is tasked by an unknown voice to complete increasingly difficult challenges if she wants to save her daughter’s life. The supernatural horror thriller The Exorcism of God arrives on Blu-ray plus digital and DVD April 19 from Lionsgate.

The film follows Father Peter Williams, an American exorcist, who hides a dark secret. Possessed by a demon he was trying to expel, he committed a terrible sacrilege. To atone for this sin, Peter devotes his life to charity work in a small town in Mexico. Eighteen years later, his deeply buried secret comes to light when the demon from his past returns, possessing a girl and unleashing a deadly disease.
