MVD Entertainment Group is re-releasing the three “Malevolence” films on Blu-ray and DVD Oct. 15.
All three films were written and directed by Stevan Mena. The standalone re-releases mark the 15th anniversary of the first film.
The original Malevolence from 2003 stars Brandon Johnson, Samantha Dark and Heather Magee. Taken from his backyard swing at age 6, Martin Bristol was forced to witness and participate in the horrific crimes of a deranged madman. For years, Martin’s whereabouts have remained a mystery … until four bank robbers, on the run from the law, meet up at an abandoned house to split up the loot. It won Best Feature Film at the 2003 New York City Horror Film Festival and at the 2003 Long Island International Film Expo.
Malevolence 2: Bereavement, from 2011, stars Alexandra Daddario as a 17-year-old girl who moves to the countryside to live with her uncle (Michael Biehn) and learns a shocking secret about the farmhouse down the road. The cast also includes John Savage, Nolan Funk and Spencer List. The home video release includes a director’s cut.
In 2018’s Malevolence 3: Killer, the hunt is on for Martin Bristol. The cast includes Adrienne Barbeau, Katie Gibson and Kevin McKelvy.
