Mark Wahlberg Sci-Fi Actioner ‘Infinite’ Due on Digital April 12, Disc May 17

The sci-fi actioner Infinite will arrive for digital purchase April 12 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD May 17 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Starring Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor and directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film is based on the book The Reincarnationist Papers by D. Eric Maikranz. The film follows characters who must use memories and skills from past lives to protect the future of humanity in a race against time in the fight between good and evil.

Wahlberg plays Evan McCauley, who is haunted by skills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited. As he is self-medicated and on the brink of a mental breakdown, a secret group that call themselves “Infinites” comes to his rescue, revealing to him that his memories are real — but they are from multiple past lives. The Infinites bring Evan into their extraordinary world, where a gifted few are given the ability to be reborn with their memories and knowledge accumulated over centuries. With critical secrets buried in his past, Evan must work with the Infinites to unlock the answers in his memories in a race against time to save humanity from one of their own (Ejiofor) who seeks to destroy it.

The film also stars Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, Liz Carr, Toby Jones and Dylan O’Brien.

Special features on digital, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray include “They Call Themselves Infinites,” a deep dive into the concept of reincarnation, character development, creative direction and set design; “The Kinetic Action of Infinite,” a behind-the-scenes look at the vehicles, stunt drivers, and technology used to achieve the action scenes in the film;”Anatomy of a Scene — Police Station & Forest,” an in-depth look with the cast and crew at the creation of two of the film’s major scenes; and “Infinite Time,” an exploration of the creation of the film’s effects, including a breakdown of the on-set fight action and the visual effects work employed in post-production.

The DVD includes the feature film in standard-definition.

New NFTs of Anthony Hopkins Feature ‘Zero Contact’ Available

Vuele has announced two mass consumer drops of the feature film NFT Zero Contact, offering two different choices of NFT bundles to collect and trade on the platform. 

Vuele.io will allow consumers to purchase the “Exclusive Edition” NFT bundle for $59 on Feb. 22 and  the “Collector’s Edition” NFT bundle for $25 on Feb. 28.

There are 2,500 bundles of the Zero Contact “Exclusive Edition” NFT, which includes the feature film, a making-of featurette, a signed poster, and three randomly generated character trading cards. There are 25,000 bundles of the Zero Contact “Collector’s Edition” NFT, which includes both the feature film and poster (not signed).

Vuele’s soft launch in September 2021 offered collectors eleven NFT drops through OpenSea, bringing in revenue of more than six figures, according to the company.

Launched in 2021, Vuele, created by Enderby Entertainment and CurrencyWorks Inc.,is the first direct-to-consumer, full-length feature film viewing and distribution platform delivering feature films and digital collectible entertainment content as NFTs. Users will be able to become owners of exclusive limited-edition film and collector NFT content which they can watch, collect, sell and trade on the Vuele.io platform.

“We are seeing a lot of areas in entertainment exploring uses for NFTs and Blockchain, with Vuele we’re focused on engaging a fan base in a new distribution model, not to compete with the existing model but as an alternative,” said the film’s producer-director Rick Dugdale, co-founder of Vuele and CEO of Enderby Entertainment. “This is a new revenue stream similar to the way streaming created one or further back when studios were taking back catalogue titles and creating DVD box sets with bonus features. NFTs offer the consumer that same type of exclusive access and collectibility.”

1980s Flicks ‘Deep Space’ and ‘3:15’ Due on Blu-ray Feb. 22 From Ronin Flix and MVD

Two 1980s flicks, the action adventure 3:15 and the sci-fi fantasy Deep Space, are headed to Blu-ray Feb. 22 from Ronin Flix and MVD Entertainment Group.

In the classic ’80s grindhouse film 3:15 (1986), “The Cobras” rule Lincoln High and everyone in it — everyone except Jeff Hanna. Once the most feared member of the Cobras, Hanna got sick of fighting and got out of the gang. Now the Cobras have brutalized his new girlfriend and threatened to kill him for his disloyalty. It’s time for one last fight.

The film stars a young Adam Baldwin (Independence Day, TV’s “Chuck” and “Firefly”) and Deborah Foreman (Valley Girl, April Fool’s Day), Gina Gershon, Danny De La Paz and Mario Van Peebles. The release features DTS-HD master audio stereo, a new 2019 HD master, an on-camera interview with actor Danny De La Paz, and the theatrical trailer.

In Deep Space (1988), a U.S. satellite transporting a secretly engineered creature crashes to Earth near Los Angeles. Police officers McLemore (Charles Napier, Last Embrace, One Eyed Monster) and Sandbourn (Ann Turkel, The Cassandra Crossing, Golden Rendezvous) are assigned to pursue the escaped mutant beast. Along the way, they clash with their superior, Capt. Robertson (Bo Svenson, Breaking Point, Final Chapter: Walking Tall, Delta Force), and the scientists behind the project. Psychic Lady Elaine Wentworth (Julie Newmar) also lends them a hand.

The film also stars Ron Glass (“Barney Miller”), James Booth (Avenging Force, Zulu), Elisabeth Brooks (The Howling) and Norman Burton (Scorchy, The Terminal Man) and is directed by cult icon Fred Olen Ray. The release features a new 2018 HD master  and audio commentary with the director.

The Russian sci-fi thriller Project Gemini will be released for digital purchase, and on Blu-ray and DVD March 15 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

In the film, after centuries of destroying Earth’s resources, humankind faces the grim reality that its last shot at survival may require creating an entirely new home — in outer space. An international expedition is quickly formed to find a suitable new planet, but when plans go awry, the crew is suddenly stranded without power on a strange planet. Unfortunately, they’ll soon learn that something truly unimaginable has been out there watching, lying in wait for the unwary human scouts.

Sci-Fi Film ‘Last Words,’ Drama ‘Home’ and Romcom ‘Funny Thing About Love’ on Gravitas Ventures’ February Disc Slate

The drama Home, the romantic comedy Funny Thing About Love and the apocalyptic sci-fi drama Last Words are being released in February on DVD and Blu-ray Disc from Gravitas Ventures.

Directed by Franka Potente, Home, available Feb. 1, follows an ex felon who returns home from prison and must confront the demons of his past. It stars Jake McLaughlin, Kathy Bates, Aisling Franciosi, Lil Rel Howery and Stephen Root.

Also due Feb. 1 is Funny Thing About Love, directed by Adam White. The story follows Samantha Banks, who is a successful businesswoman with a handsome fiancee. Over one crazy Thanksgiving holiday with her scheming family, her whole world is thrown into a tailspin when they invite her ex-boyfriend, “the one that got away.” The film stars Jon Heder, Barry Corbin, Summer Bellessa, Kevan Moezzi, Jason Gray, Brooke White, Pat Finn, Alaina Beauloye, Taylor Moriarty, Brady Ellsworth and Landen Adams.

 

Available Feb. 15 is Last Words, directed by Jonathan Nossiter and starring Nick Nolte, Stellan Skarsgard and Charlotte Rampling. In the film, it is 2085, and a young man, one of the few survivors of the human community of old, embarks on a long voyage to find others.

 

 

Feature ‘The In Between’ to Debut to U.S. Paramount+ Subs Feb. 11

The feature film The In Between, from Paramount Players, will premiere exclusively for Paramount+ subscribers in the United States Feb. 11.

The film is coming soon to Netflix internationally.

The supernatural love story that centers on a teenage girl, Tessa (Joey King), who after bouncing around in foster homes for most of her childhood, doesn’t believe she deserves her own love story. Everything changes after she has a chance encounter with Skylar (Kyle Allen), a senior from a neighboring town who’s a true romantic. As her heart begins to open, tragedy strikes when a car accident takes Skylar’s life, while Tessa survives. As Tessa searches for answers in the aftermath of the accident, she soon believes Skylar is attempting to reconnect with her from the afterworld. With the help of her best friend and a newfound belief that love never dies, Tessa attempts to contact Skylar one last time, in order to give their love story the epic ending it deserves.

The South Korean thriller Seobok: Project Clone will be released through digital retailers and on Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 15 from Well Go USA Entertainment. 

In the film, a former intelligence agent is assigned to transport the first ever human clone to a new safe location. Because the robotic clone holds the secret to immortality, evil organizations are bent on kidnapping him to extract the dark secret. As the enemy closes in, the pair is forced to make an impossible choice.

Directed by Lee Yong Zoo (Possessed), the film stars Gong Yoo (Train to Busan, “Squid Game”), Park Bo Gum (Love in the Moonlight, Hello Monster), and Jo Woo Jin (Steel Rain, The Book of Fish), plus popular television series stars Jang Young Nam (“It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” “My Country: The New Age,” “Find Me in Your Memory”) and Park Byung Eun (“Arthdal Chronicles,” “Mystery Queen,” “Your Honor”).

The sci-fi horror film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City will be released on digital Jan. 18 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD Feb. 8 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. 

In the film, Raccoon City, which was once a booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland — with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.

It’s the story of childhood friends, Ray Marsh and Alan Meursault, who are on a tourist ship in the Arctic to make an episode of their modestly popular travel and nature show “Vagabond.” Their regular cameraman fails to get a visa, so they’re joined by local hire and expat Sean Tibbets. What starts as a once in a lifetime day cruise quickly descends into madness as all but the three of them vanish from the boat.

The comedy Bigfoot Famous and The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre are among the titles coming to DVD in November from Gravitas Ventures.

Bigfoot Famous is available now. In the film, when a viral video of Bigfoot emerges, a once popular influencer goes on a mission to film a vlog with Bigfoot and regain her fame. The comedy stars Stephanie Barkley, Chris Kleckner, Sam Milman, Lauren Howard Hayes, Anthony Ma, Kelsey Gunn, Marlon Webb and Chris Guerra.

The action horror comedy The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie is due Nov. 9. In the zombiefest, Wrestling’s most hated tag team, The Manson Brothers, now in the twilight of their careers and relegated to doing smaller wrestling promotions, take a midnight cage match on Halloween night, only to find themselves trapped in the arena with wrestlers and fans infected with a mutated rabies zombie virus. Armed only with their wrestling skills, and enchanted lucha libre masks, they must fight for their lives and ensure the virus is contained to prevent an all-out massacre and pandemic. The drama The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain comes out Nov. 16. The film is based on the true story of the events that led to the death of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr., an elderly African American veteran with bipolar disorder, who was killed during a conflict with police officers who were dispatched to check on him. It stars Frankie Faison, Steve O’Connell and Enrico Natale.

The sci-fi film Repeat will be released Nov. 19. A zealous cognitive psychologist stumbles across an unbelievable discovery-a way of communicating with the other side.
