Complete ‘Drunk History’ Coming to DVD June 29

Comedy Central and Paramount Home Entertainment will release Drunk History: The Complete Series on DVD on June 29.

“Drunk History,” which aired on Comedy Central from 2013 to 2019 and is based on the Funny or Die Web series, follows host Derek Waters and his group of inebriated guest stars as they travel through different U.S. cities while attempting to tell stories and re-enacting famous events in history. The new DVD set marks the first disc release of the fifth and sixth seasons.

Guest stars include Octavia Spencer, Laura Dern, Ryan Gosling, Maya Rudolph, Lin Manuel Miranda and more.

Crime Thriller ‘Pixie’ Due on DVD May 11 From Paramount

The Saban Films feature Pixie will come out on DVD May 11 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

The film is already available on digital and on demand.

Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) and Alec Baldwin (The Departed) star in this crime story set in Ireland. On a path to avenge her mother’s death, Pixie Hardy (Cooke) attempts a heist that will give her the means to leave her small-town life behind.  When the plan goes horribly wrong, she’s forced to team up with a pair of misfits who are clearly in over their heads. On the run from an organized gang — criminal priests and nuns, led by Father McGrath (Baldwin) — the trio will scheme and swindle anyone they come across in this hilarious and thrilling adventure.

The film also stars Ben Hardy, Daryl McCormack and Colm Meaney.

Heist Film ‘The Vault’ Coming to DVD June 1 From Paramount

The heist film The Vault from Saban Films will be released on DVD June 1 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

The film stars Freddie Highmore (“The Good Doctor”), Astrid BergeĚs-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Sam Riley, Liam Cunningham (“Game of Thrones”), Jose Coronado, Luis Tosar, Emilio Gutieěrrez Caba, Axel Stein, Daniel Holguiěn and Famke Janssen (X-Men).

The globe-trotting, action thriller follows a high-risk heist. When an engineer (Highmore) learns of a mysterious, impenetrable fortress hidden under the Bank of Spain, he joins a crew of master thieves who plan to steal the legendary lost treasure locked inside while the whole country is distracted by Spain’s World Cup Final. With thousands of soccer fans cheering in the streets, and security forces closing in, the crew have just minutes to pull off the score of a lifetime.

Bruce Willis Film ‘Cosmic Sin’ Coming to DVD May 18 From Paramount

The Bruce Willis starrer Cosmic Sin will come out on DVD May 18 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

The film is already available in select theaters, on digital and on demand.

Willis and Frank Grillo star in the sci-fi adventure set in the year 2524, four hundred years after humans started colonizing the outer planets. Retired military general James Ford (Willis) is called back into service after soldiers on a remote planet are attacked by a hostile alien fleet. The threat against the human race escalates into an inevitable interstellar war. Gen. Ford teams up with Gen. Eron Ryle (Grillo) and a team of elite soldiers in a race to stop the imminent attack before it is too late.

Kirk Douglas Western ‘Last Train From Gun Hill’ Joining Paramount Presents Blu-ray Line June 15

The Kirk Douglas Western Last Train From Gun Hill will debut on Blu-ray June 15 as part of the Paramount Presents line from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Douglas and Anthony Quinn headline the classic from director John Sturges, which has been remastered from a 6K film transfer of the original VistaVision negative.

The film follows U.S. Marshal Matt Morgan (Douglas) on the trail of his wife’s killer. Adding a dark twist to the tale, the suspect’s father is Morgan’s longtime friend, cattle baron Craig Beldon (Quinn). Morgan is determined to capture the killer and take him away by the 9 o’clock train, against all odds.

The limited-edition Blu-ray includes a new “Filmmaker Focus” with film historian Leonard Maltin, access to a digital copy of the film, as well as original theatrical trailers for Last Train From Gun Hill, Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, The Furies and The Black Orchid. The Blu-ray comes in collectible packaging featuring a foldout image of the film’s theatrical poster and an interior spread with key movie moments.

Comedy ‘Happily’ Coming to DVD May 25 From Paramount

The Saban Films comedy Happily, starring Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé, will come out on DVD May 25 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

In the film, a happily married couple (McHale and Bishé) discover their friends are resentful of their lustful relationship. When a visit from a mysterious stranger leads to a dead body, they begin to question the loyalty of their so-called friends.

Directed by BenDavid Grabinsk, the film also stars Stephen Root, Paul Scheer, Breckin Meyer, Natalie Zea and Natalie Morales.

The film is available now in select theaters, on digital and on demand.

‘Mommy Dearest’ Debuting on Blu-ray June 1 in Paramount Presents Line

The campy drama Mommy Dearest will come out on Blu-ray Disc for the first time June 1 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Released for its 40th anniversary, the film will be part of the Paramount Presents catalog line.

Based on Christina Crawford’s controversial best-selling, tell-all novel, the film stars Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford, struggling for her career while battling the inner demons of her private life. While the public Crawford was a strong-willed, glamorous object of admiration, behind the scenes was a private Crawford — the woman desperate to be a single mother and trying to survive in a devastating industry that swallows careers thoughtlessly.

Newly restored from a 4K film transfer, Mommy Dearest will be presented in a limited-edition with collectible packaging featuring a foldout image of the film’s theatrical poster and an interior spread with key movie moments. The Blu-ray includes a new “Filmmaker Focus” on the film with biographer Justin Bozung and its director Frank Perry, a new audio commentary with American drag queen Hedda Lettuce, access to a digital copy of the film, as well as previously released bonus content. Other special features include commentary by filmmaker John Waters; “The Revival of Joan”; “Life with Joan”; “Joan Lives On”; a photo gallery; and the original theatrical trailer.

Showtime Legal Drama ‘Your Honor’ Due on DVD June 15

CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment will release the Showtime legal drama Your Honor on DVD June 15.

The 10-part limited series stars Bryan Cranston as respected New Orleans Judge Michael Desiato. After his teenage son, Adam (Hunter Doohan), is involved in a hit-and-run accident, the judge must tread carefully through a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices. Unbeknownst to Adam, the victim is the son of dangerous crime boss Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg) and his wife, Gina (Hope Davis), who are both out for vengeance and will not stop until justice is served on their own terms.

The cast also includes Carmen Ejogo, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Sofia Black-D’Elia, Maura Tierney, Amy Landecker, Margo Martindale, Lorraine Toussaint, Chet Hanks, Lamar Johnson and Lilli Kay.

‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ 35th Anniversary Blu-ray Steelbook Coming June 8

Paramount Home Entertainment June 8 will release a special 35th anniversary Blu-ray Disc Steelbook edition of the comedy classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

Also out that day from Paramount will be Blu-ray Disc Steelbooks of Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful.

Writer-director John Hughes’ Ferris Bueller’s Day Off debuted theatrically in June 1986. The film follows a high school student’s wild adventures in Chicago during a day off from school.

The new limited-edition Steelbook will include access to a digital copy of the film, as well as a documentary on the making of the film, a class photo album, and other legacy bonus features.

Matthew Broderick stars as charming high schooler Ferris who, with his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) and best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck), ditches school to enjoy one perfect day as a kid with no responsibilities.  In 2014, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was added to the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry, which serves as a compendium of films that have been judged to be culturally, aesthetically or historically important.

Also from John Hughes are Pretty In Pink, which also celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, and Some Kind of Wonderful. Both films were written by Hughes and directed by Howard Deutch. The Steelbooks include access to digital copies of the films, as well as previously released bonus content.

Pretty in Pink is a 1986 romantic comedy film about high school romance, and social life, that stars Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer and the late Harry Dean Stanton. It is named after a song by British new wave band the Psychedelic Furs and is considered a “Brat Pack” movie, a name given to a group of young actors who often were cast together in 1980s coming-of-age films,

Some Kind of Wonderful, released theatrically a year later, in 1987, also revolves around social life in high schools. The cast includes Eric Stoltz, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Lea Thompson.

4K Ultra HD Blu-ray ‘Indiana Jones’ Collection Arriving June 8

Paramount Home Entertainment and Lucasfilm June 8 will release the Indiana Jones 4-Movie Collection on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. The set will also include digital copies of all four films: 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Each film has been meticulously remastered from 4K scans of the original negatives with extensive visual effects work done to ensure the most pristine and highest quality image. All picture work was approved by director Steven Spielberg.

The 4K presentation includes Dolby Vision and HDR-10, plus Dolby Atmos audio. All four films were remixed at Skywalker Sound under the supervision of sound designer Ben Burtt. All original sound elements were used to achieve the fully immersive Dolby Atmos mixes while staying true to each film’s original creative intent.

The Indiana Jones 4-Movie Collection also includes a collectible booklet with behind-the-scenes images from all four films. Extras include each film’s original theatrical trailer and seven hours of previously released bonus material:

  • “On Set With Raiders of the Lost Ark,” including “From Jungle to Desert” and “From Adventure to Legend”;
  • 1981 documentary about the making of Raiders of the Lost Ark;
