Netflix: ‘Outer Banks’ Season Three Debut Dominates Weekly Streaming Through Feb. 26

The debut of season three of teen drama “Outer Banks” was the most-streamed content on Netflix with almost 150 million hours viewed across 74 countries for the week ended Feb. 26. Seasons one (35.1 million hours viewed) and two (23.86 million hours) of the show continued to resonate with subscribers, both finishing in the top 10 of English-language TV shows.

New entrants on the TV List included three-part docuseries “Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal” with 40.5 million hours viewed, and season five of “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” with 25.76 million hours viewed. The previous week’s chart topper “You” added another 27.75 million hours. Reality dating series “Perfect Match” (39.51 million hours), Red Rose (20.54 million hours) and “Wednesday” (18.95 million hours) all remained on the list.

The debut of We Have a Ghost entered the English-language movie chart with 40.47 million hours viewed. The family-friendly horror comedy was in the top 10 in 91 countries. Psychological thriller The Strays finished No. 2 in its debut with 28.78 million hours viewed. Meanwhile, the Reese Witherspoon, Ashton Kutcher romantic comedy Your Place or Mine added another 22.29 million hours in its third week of release. 

Korean mystery Unlocked topped the non-English-language movies chart with 16.15 million hours viewed in its second week of release. Following its sweep at the BAFTAs and in its 14th week on the top 10 list, German World War I drama All Quiet on the Western Front moved into the No. 2 spot with 5.5 million hours. The debut of Japanese drama Call Me Chihiro debuted with 5.4 million hours in No. 3 position. 

On the non-English-language TV chart, Mexican thriller “Triptych” topped the list with 50.73 million hours viewed in its debut. Former Korean chart topper, competition reality series “Physical: 100,” and the second season of “Mr. Queen” generated 32.4 million hours in its second week of release.   

Nielsen: Netflix’s ‘Outer Banks’ Again Tops Weekly Streamed Content Despite Losing Minutes

The Netflix original teen drama “Outer Banks” again led all weekly streamed content on household televisions for the week ended Aug. 22, according to new data from Nielsen. The series tracked 736 million minutes across 20 episodes — down 36% from 1.16 billion minutes streamed during the previous-week period. The series generated 2.1 billion minutes three weeks ago.

Among acquired series, Netflix’s “Cocomelon” finished a close second with 732 million minutes across 12 episodes. The streamer’s Sweet Girl, starring Jason Momoa, topped all movies with 658 million minutes.

Nielsen: Netflix’s ‘Outer Banks’ Tops Weekly Streamed Content, Despite Losing 50% of Minutes Viewed

Netflix original teen drama “Outer Banks” again led all weekly streamed content on household televisions for the week ended Aug. 15, according to new data from Nielsen. The show generated 1.1 billion minutes streamed across 20 episodes — almost half the 2.1 billion minutes streamed during the previous week.

Netflix licensed show “All American” led acquired content with 883 minutes across 51 episodes. Netflix original movie Vivo led all feature-length movies with 802 million minutes.
