Whip Media: ‘The Last of Us’ Top New Show, ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Top Returning Show, ‘Teen Wolf: The Movie’ Top Movie Anticipated in January

HBO’s “The Last of Us” was the top anticipated new show, Netflix’s “Ginny & Georgia” was the most anticipated returning show, and Paramount+’s Teen Wolf: The Movie was the top anticipated movie on the Whip Media charts for January.

“The Last of Us,” which debuts Jan. 15, is a post-apocalyptic drama series based on the 2013 video game.

“Ginny & Georgia” returns for its second season Jan. 5. The comedy-drama follows teenager Ginny and her mother Georgia who settle in a New England town for a better life.

Teen Wolf: The Movie, debuting Jan. 26 on Paramount+, is a continuation of the MTV series “Teen Wolf” and features most of the cast reprising their roles. It follows werewolf Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) as he protects his California town.

Other top anticipated January movies available to stream include You People, a comedy starring Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy, streaming on Netflix starting Jan. 27, and Jung-E, a post-apocalyptic story about a researcher at an AI lab who clones a heroic soldier’s brain (her mother’s), streaming on Netflix beginning Jan. 20.

Whip: ‘Interview With the Vampire’ Top New Show, ‘White Lotus’ Top Returning Show Anticipated in October

AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” was the top anticipated new show, HBO’s “The White Lotus” was the most anticipated returning show, and Warner Bros.’ Black Adam was the top anticipated movie on the Whip Media charts for October.

“Interview With the Vampire,” which debuted Oct. 2, is a series based on the book of the same name by Anne Rice about a vampire who tells his story to a reporter. The AMC series (also streaming on AMC+) is set forward in time from the story told in the book and updated, changing the racial identity of main characters.

Season two of “The White Lotus,” which debuts Oct. 30, features a different set of vacationers at another White Lotus property in Sicily. It will stream on HBO Max.

Black Adam is a DC Comics-based superhero movie, debuting in theaters Oct. 21. It stars Dwayne Johnson in the title role of the antihero from ancient times thrust into the modern world.

HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’ Top New Show, Netflix’s ‘Locke & Key’ Top Returning Show Anticipated in August

HBO’s “House of the Dragon” was the top anticipated new show, Netflix’s “Locke & Key” was the most anticipated returning show, and Bullet Train was the top anticipated movie on the Whip Media charts for August.

“House of the Dragon,” which in addition to airing on HBO starts streaming Aug. 21 on HBO Max, is the much-anticipated prequel to “Game of Thrones,” set 200 years before that hit series and chronicling the saga of the House of Targaryen.

“Locke & Key,” season three of which debuts on Netflix Aug. 10, is a fantasy horror drama based on the comic book series of the same name. It follows a family that takes residence in the family home, Keyhouse, after the father is murdered.

Sony Pictures’ Bullet Train is an action comedy starring Joey King, Brad Pitt, Karen Fukuhara and Sandra Bullock. The film, which debuts Aug. 5, follows a trained killer (Pitt) who wants to give up the life but is pulled back in by his handler (Bullock) to acquire a briefcase on a bullet train.

The HBO Max “Gossip Girl” reboot is the top anticipated new show on the TV Time chart for July.

The reboot of the 2007-12 TV series follows a new generation of New York private school teens using social media to spread gossip. It hits screens July 8.

Topping the anticipated returning shows chart for July was Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever,” season two of which debuts July 15. In season two of the coming-of-age comedy created by Mindy Kaling, Indian American teenager Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) continues to deal with the everyday pressures of high school and drama at home, while also navigating new romantic relationships.
