Merchandising: Retailers Break Out the ‘Space Jam’ Exclusives

The Oct. 5 Blu-ray Disc and DVD release of Warner’s Space Jam: A New Legacy brought with it exclusive editions at the major retail chains.

Target’s ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Blu-ray with character cards

The film is a remake of sorts of the 1996 live-action/animation hybrid that paired Michael Jordan with Bugs Bunny in a cosmic basketball game, with the new version starring LeBron James.

Walmart’s ‘Space Jam’ DVD two-pack

Best Buy offered its typical Steelbook edition, selling the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray combo pack of Space Jam: A New Legacy in the metal casing for $34.99.

Target offered the Blu-ray/DVD/digital combo pack of the film with exclusive packaging and character cards for $26.99.

Walmart offered a DVD two-pack of both ‘Space Jam” movies for $22.96. The Blu-ray version was a wide release.

Best Buy also released another notable Steelbook exclusive during the week — a $19.99 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray combo pack of 2000’s American Psycho starring Christian Bale.
