Warner Bros. Discovery Ups Marybeth Strobel to EVP of Advertising Sales

Warner Bros. Discovery Nov. 9 announced that longtime executive Marybeth Strobel has been promoted to EVP of advertising sales, replacing Karen Grinthal, who is retiring after 25 years. Strobel reports to Jon Steinlauf, chief advertising officer, in New York.

Strobel is tasked with driving ad sales across the Food Network, TLC, OWN, Cooking Channel, TBS Entertainment, Cartoon Network and WB Syndication, including heading linear and digital teams in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit and Atlanta.

“Marybeth is an experienced sales leader who will bring a fresh perspective to her suite of brands that are key sales drivers for our advertisers and loved by our audiences,” Steinlauf said in a statement. “She will serve as an excellent complement to our existing bundle leadership team, as we continue to drive client-focused solutions across the most comprehensive portfolio in the industry.”

Strobel previously held the position of SVP of advertising sales at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, including Turner Sports.

Strobel is an active member of WBD Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Groups including Emerging Professionals, Women of Sports and Turner Sports People Advisory Council.
