Horror Film ‘Get Gone’ Here on DVD From MVD and Cleopatra

The horror film Get Gone is out on DVD from MVD Entertainment Group and Cleopatra Entertainment.

Starring horror icon Lin Shaye, the film follows Hoax Busters, an internet fake video-busting group that takes a weekend retreat after unveiling another online lie to do some team building. They travel to Whiskey Flats, Ore., and meet with Craig Eubanks, a shifty, bossy know-it-all outdoor guide who promises them his company, Rocks and Roots, will build their team confidence. At the same time, an invasive drilling company with the rights handed over by the Federal government is moving onto the land of a family that has lived on the property (illegally as “squatters”) for more than 30 years. When the drillers attack the family and the Hoax-busters get caught in the middle, things quickly go awry.

Cinedigm Partners with Fathom Events for One-Night ‘The Final Wish’ Theatrical Screening

Cinedigm Dec. 13 announced it will screen horror movie, The Final Wish,  for one-night only on Jan. 24, 2019, in about 500 select theaters nationwide.

The special screening is being distributed through Fathom Events, and will include a special introduction by the film’s co-star Lin Shaye (Insidious, The Grudge) along with a pre-taped Q&A session from Screamfest Horror Film Festival with actors Shaye, Michael Welch (The Twilight Saga), Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination) and Melissa Bolona (The Hurricane Heist), director Timothy Woodward Jr. (Hickok, Gangster Land) and Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick.

Cinedigm acquired North American distribution rights, including digital and packaged media, to the movie last October for an undisclosed amount.

Tickets for the screening can be purchased, beginning Dec. 14, at FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices.

“Fathom’s theatrical model has redefined the movie going experience allowing moviegoers to enjoy a Q&A after the credits with cast and crew to learn more about the film and how it all came together,” Bill Perrault, SVP marketing and brand management at Cinedigm, said in a statement.

Final Wish follows Aaron (Welch), a consummate under-achiever, who returns home to his devastated mother (Shaye) following the passing of his father. Among his father’s antiques he comes across an urn hiding a dark secret. As his every wish begins coming true, Aaron starts to believe there is something sinister behind his good fortune and the price of his desire might just be his soul.

“There are so many horror stories that have ingrained themselves into the psyche of society,” said Woodward Jr. “For me growing up Final Destination was one of those stories and to work with the creator of those films so closely was a dream come true. The cast members also fully committed to their characters, which helped us tell a story we hope is both fresh and frightening.”
