Korean Action-Adventure ‘Night of the Assassin’ Due on Hi-Yah! July 21, Digital and Disc Aug. 8 From Well Go

Well Go USA Entertainment will release the Korean action-adventure Night of the Assassin on the Hi-Yah! streaming service July 21 and on digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD Aug. 8.

Set in Korea’s Joseon era, the film follows a deadly assassin who comes out of retirement to exact revenge on a group waging a brutal campaign of terror against local villagers. In the film, after a deadly, long-dormant health condition surfaces during a mission, Joseon’s most lethal assassin goes into hiding to seek a cure without revealing his identity. But upon witnessing a ruthless campaign of terror against local villagers, the region’s deadliest killer comes out of retirement in order to exact his own brutal brand of vigilante justice.

The Korean sci-fi actioner Alienoid will be released on digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD Dec. 6 by Well Go USA Entertainment.

It will land on the martial arts action streaming channel Hi-Yah! on Dec. 23.

Directed by Choi Dong-hoon and starring Ryu Jun-Yeol, Kim Woo-bin and Kim Tae-ri, the feature is the first in a planned series of two epic sci-fi action time-warpers. A tale of two eras, Alienoid follows two Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) gurus seeking a legendary time-bending blade as they unexpectedly cross paths with modern-era people hunting down a dangerous alien concealed inside a human’s body.

Japanese Action-Comedy ‘Baby Assassins’ Due on Hi-Yah! Streaming Service July 22, Disc and Digital Aug. 16 From Well Go

The Japanese action-comedy Baby Assassins will debut July 22 exclusively on the martial arts streaming service Hi-Yah! before hitting digital, Blu-ray and DVD Aug. 16 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

Director Hugo Sakamoto (A Janitor, Hangman’s Knot) and action director Kensuke Sonomura (John Woo’s Manhunt, Nowhere Man, Hydra, Bushido Man) combine their talents for the martial arts film. Akari Takaishi (Distant Thunder, A Janitor) as “Chisato” and Saori Izawa (A Janitor) as “Mahiro” play highly trained teenage assassins. Upon graduation, they are informed by upper management that they will need to hold down “normal” jobs as a cover, and — even worse — they’ll be forced to share an apartment. However, after an unfortunate run-in with a Yakuza member, the two must band together to survive an epic fight for their lives. The cast also includes Masanori Mimoto (Enter the Fat Dragon, Hydra, First Love, Yakuza Apocalypse, God of War).

In the film, when a powerful crime ring starts construction on the largest casino in all of Asia, the group is challenged by a young, vicious gangster (Jang Hyuk) from Seoul who will stop at nothing to gain power. In the film, while visiting Hong Kong, a young Master Ip intervenes in a kidnapping attempt, unintentionally igniting a turf war with a ruthless human trafficking ring. In retaliation, the gang kidnaps one of Ip Man’s close friends, leaving him with no choice but to challenge the group’s notoriously brutal boxing champion head-on.

Boasting a cast headlined by international martial arts action superstars Donnie Yen (Mulan, “Ip Man” franchise) and Nicholas Tse (Shaolin, New Police Story), Raging Fire was the last film from acclaimed action auteur Benny Chan (Shaolin, New Police Story).

In the film, Bong (Yen) is a highly respected hardline cop with a long history of success on dangerous cases. However, his past unexpectedly comes back to haunt him when a sting operation is attacked by a mysterious group of criminals led by Ngo (Tse), his former protégé, a talented former officer who had once respected and admired Bong. The Chinese boxing-meets-mixed martial arts drama Crazy Fist will debut exclusively on the martial arts streaming service Hi-Yah! on Aug. 6, before hitting digital, Blu-ray and DVD Sept. 14 from Well Go USA Entertainment.

First time feature film director Guo Qing (who also appears in the film) directs Dragon Blade-alums Steve Yoo and Wang Wei, plus Collin Chou (Matrix II, III), Xiaoming Huang (Ip Man 2), Wei Zhao (Mulan: Rise of a Warrior) and retired professional bodybuilder Kai Greene (“Stranger Things”).

In the film, after an opponent dies mid-match, a prominent MMA champion swore never to fight again, instead retiring to run his family’s international business. However, when his best friend dies under suspicious circumstances during another tournament, he has no choice but to step back in the ring to help uncover the truth.
