Sony Pictures’ ‘Americanish’ Available for Digital Rental, Purchase Nov. 14

Americanish, a 2021 American comedy film written by Aizzah Fatima and Iman Zawahry, will be made available for digital rental or purchase by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Nov. 14.

The film was directed by Zawahry and stars Fatima, Salena Qureshi, Shenaz Treasury, Lillete Dubey, Mohammed Amer, Ajay Naidu, Godfrey, Kapil Talwalkar, George Wendt and David Rasche.

Set in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, Americanish follows career-driven sisters Maryam and Sam Khan and their fish-out-of-water cousin Ameera as they navigate romance, culture, career, and family. 

The film premiered at CAAMFest on May 23, 2021. Sony Pictures International Productions acquired worldwide distribution rights to the film last January. 

Comedy ‘Aliens, Clowns & Geeks’ Headed to Blu-ray and DVD June 7 From MVD

The zany comedy Aliens, Clowns & Geeks, from actor-director and creative multi-hyphenate Richard Elfman, is headed to Blu-ray and DVD June 7 from MVD Entertainment Group.

The out-of-this-world adventure finds out-of-work actor Eddy Pine (Bodhi Elfman) stumbling upon the key to the universe and getting twisted up in an intergalatic war between killer clowns and sneaky aliens.
 
Stars include the late Verne Troyer in his final film role, comedian Steve Agee, French Stewart and George Wendt. Additional cast includes Anastasia Elfman, Malcolm Foster Smith, Rebecca Forsythe, Angeline-Rose Troy, Nic Novicki and Martin Klebba.

The soundtrack consists of all new original music from Oscar-nominated composer and Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman and Ego Plum. 

Special features include behind-the-scenes interviews with cast and crew, a new interview with Richard Elfman, and a music video from Mambo Diabolico, the surrealist musical collaboration between Elfman and Ego Plum.

Universal Releasing ‘Grand-Daddy Day Care’ on Disc and Digital Feb. 5

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will release Grand-Daddy Day Care on DVD, digital and on demand Feb. 5.

The film is a spiritual follow-up to 2003’s Daddy Day Care and its sequel, 2007’s Daddy Day Camp, but with new characters.

Reno Wilson stars as Frank Collins, who decides to start a day care for his father-in-law (Danny Trejo) and other seniors as a way to make quick cash while he’s writing a book. With a code enforcement officer challenging the legality of his business, and his senior charges getting into all kinds of trouble, Frank’s work days become anything but effortless.

The cast also includes Anthony Gonzalez, Barry Bostwick, Linda Gray, Julia Duffy, Alec Mapa, Garrett Morris, Margaret Avery, Roxana Ortega, Hal Linden, James Hong and George Wendt.
