Global Environmental Group Taps TV Vet Michael Fletcher to Lead EarthxTV Network

EarthX, an international environmental organization, has appointed Michael Fletcher as co-CEO to lead its television network, EarthxTV.

Fletcher will focus on building a network and video-on-demand platform that delivers entertaining programming for audiences interested in environmental issues. Co-CEO Lynn McBee will continue to lead the company’s nonprofit, impact, and conservation efforts, working closely with Fletcher to increase overall awareness for the organization globally as it expands into new areas.

A veteran media executive and entrepreneur, Fletcher previously co-founded and served as CEO of Ride TV, the equestrian sports, culture, and lifestyle network. Fletcher grew the company from inception into an internationally distributed cable, satellite, and OTT network.

Prior to forming Ride TV, Fletcher’s experience includes serving as president and board member of Firestone Communications, where he launched a Spanish-language children’s cable television network, Sorpresa. He joined Firestone from Hispanic Television Network, where he served as interim CEO until the sale of the company to Firestone. At Hispanic Television Network, he transitioned the company from a broadcaster to a cable television network, expanding distribution across Comcast, AT&T, Charter, Time Warner, and other cable operators.

Fletcher also co-founded Televideo, the largest video production company serving the Tejano music industry in the U.S. Televideo created and produced the hit syndicated television show “Tejano Country,” which is broadcast on NBC, CBS, FOX, and ABC affiliates.

EarthX, which hosts one of the largest environmental expos and film festivals in the U.S., launched EarthxTV in 2020, moving the popular in-person event online due to the pandemic. The online event attracted viewers worldwide and laid the foundation for the EarthxTV network. This year’s event drew nearly 600 million live-stream views and reached 171 countries. EarthxTV now delivers hundreds of hours of programming with plans to aggressively increase its slate of acquired and original series, films, and documentaries in 2022. The network is currently available online at,on iOS and Android, and through a growing list of OTT partners, including Roku, Apple TV and Google Play.
