Lionsgate will release the 1976 sci-fi film The Man Who Fell to Earth, starring the late David Bowie, newly restored for the first time on 4K Ultra HD (plus Blu-ray plus digital) in an exclusive Steelbook at Best Buy on April 25.
Based on the 1963 novel by Paul Mayersberg and directed by Nicolas Roeg, the film explores the impact of capitalism and industrialization on the future of humanity and the planet. It follows Thomas Jerome Newton (Bowie in his debut feature role), a humanoid alien who comes to Earth from a distant planet on a mission to take water back to his home planet in the midst of a catastrophic drought.
The film also stars Rip Torn, Candy Clark, Buck Henry, Bernie Casey and Jackson D. Kane.
