‘Trolls Band Together’ Sing-Along Edition Due on Regular Digital, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Jan. 16

DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Band Together Sing-Along Edition will be released on regular digital (after a premium run), 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD Jan. 16 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The film has earned $202.9 million at the global box office.

Highlighting a soundtrack of original and classic songs, the release presents more than an hour of bonus content, including a new original short “It Takes Three,” character drawing tutorials, deleted scenes, and behind-the-scenes features with the cast and crew including NSYNC’s reunion for the first time in 20 years.

In the latest chapter of DreamWorks Animation’s animated musical franchise, as Poppy (Anna Kendrick) grows closer to her now boyfriend Branch (Justin Timberlake), she discovers his secret past as a member of her favorite boyband BroZone with his four estranged brothers. When Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious popstars, Branch and Poppy embark on a journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd. Along the way Poppy uncovers a family secret of her own, a long-lost sister named Viva (Camila Cabello).

‘Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken’ Due for Regular Digital Purchase Aug. 29, on DVD and Blu-ray Sept. 26

DreamWorks Animation’s action comedy Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken will be released for regular digital purchase on Aug. 29, and on Blu-ray Disc and DVD Sept. 26 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The film, available since July 18 for premium digital purchase and rental, has earned $41.6 million at the global box office.

Directed by Kirk DeMicco (The Croods), the film’s voice actors include Lana Candor (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” franchise), Jane Fonda (Book Club: The Next Chapter80 For Brady), Toni Collette (Knives Out) and Annie Murphy (“Schitt’s Creek”).

The animated comedy follows a shy teenager who discovers that she’s part of a legendary royal lineage of mythical sea krakens and that her destiny, in the depths of the oceans, is bigger than she ever dreamed. Learning to be an all-powerful sea creature while hiding among humans is hard enough for Ruby, but to make matters worse, her super popular new bestie Chelsea is secretly a mermaid. DreamWorks Animation’s The Bad Guys will be released for digital purchase and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD June 21 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. 

Based on the Scholastic children’s graphic novels, the film follows five infamous friends — Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula. After years of countless heists and being the world’s most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught. Mr. Wolf brokers a deal to keep them out of prison and the Bad Guys set out to fool the world into believing they’ve gone good.

Apple TV+ will bow the new animated series “Pinecone & Pony” April 8.

Based on the book The Princess and the Pony by New York Times best-selling author Kate Beaton, the series comes from DreamWorks Animation and First Generation Films.

“Pinecone & Pony” is an eight-episode animated comedy for kids and families about a young girl named Pinecone who, with the help of her best friend Pony, is learning that there’s more than one way to be a warrior. Together, they show their world how to challenge expectations.

DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Spirit Untamed’ Due on Digital Aug. 17, Disc Aug. 31 From Universal

The animated family film Spirit Untamed will come out on digital Aug. 17, and on Blu-ray and DVD Aug. 31 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and DreamWorks Animation.

Spirit Untamed follows free-spirited Lucky Prescott, who moves to Miradero to join her estranged father. She is decidedly unimpressed with the sleepy town until she discovers a unique tie to her late mother who was a fearless horse-riding stunt performer. She quickly forms a bond with a wild mustang named Spirit and makes two new pals who love horses as much as she does. When a heartless wrangler plans to capture Spirit and his herd, Lucky and her friends set off on an epic journey to rescue the horse who has given her an unbreakable connection to her mother’s legacy.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing five multiple-title disc collections Sept. 29.

The “Focus Features: 10-Movie Spotlight Collection,” coming on Blu-ray, features films that earned seven Academy Awards and 11 Golden Globes. The set includes Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pride & Prejudice, Brokeback Mountain, Atonement, Burn After Reading, Moonrise Kingdom, The Theory of Everything, On the Basis of Sex and Harriet.

The “Blumhouse of Horrors: 10-Movie Collection,” coming on Blu-ray and DVD, includes Get Out, The Purge, Ouija, Split, The Visit, Unfriended, Truth or Dare, The Boy Next Door, Happy Death Day and Ma.
