New releases on Blu-ray Disc and DVD Dec. 6 include Clerks III, Amsterdam, Star Trek: Discovery — Season Four and Better Call Saul: Season Six.
Lionsgate will release director Kevin Smith’s Clerks III on Blu-ray Disc, DVD and VOD Dec. 6. The film completes a trilogy that began with Smith’s 1994 directorial debut Clerks. and continued with 2006’s Clerks II. It is also the ninth entry in Smith’s View Askewniverse, his shared cinematic universe linked by Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Smith) and named for his production company, View Askew. Clerks III returns to the adventures of Dante (Brian O’Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson) about 15 years after they purchased the Quick Stop convenience store. After Randal suffers a massive heart attack (based on Smith’s own real-life heart attack), he decides to make a movie about his life in the retail service industry (as depicted in the first two “Clerks” movies). The cast also includes Trevor Fehrman, Austin Zajur, and Rosario Dawson. Read a review here. Disney-owned 20th Century Studios’ and New Regency’s Amsterdam, written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker David O. Russell, arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Dec. 6 from Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution. Amsterdam is about three close friends in the 1930s who witness a murder, are framed for it, and then uncover a shocking plot to turn the United States into a fascist country. Equal parts fact and fiction, the film stars Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, Robert Niro, John David Washington, Alessandro Nivola, Andrea Riseborough, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, Taylor Swift, Timothy Olyphant and Zoe Saldana.
Season six of “Better Call Saul” will be released on Blu-ray and DVD Dec. 6 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. A complete-series set also will be available on Blu-ray Dec. 6. “Better Call Saul’s” final season concludes the complicated journey and transformation of its compromised hero Jimmy McGill into criminal lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). From the cartel to the courthouse, from Albuquerque to Omaha, season six tracks Jimmy, Saul and Gene as well as Jimmy’s complex relationship with Kim, who is in the midst of her own existential crisis. Meanwhile, Mike, Gus, Nacho and Lalo are locked in a game of cat and mouse with mortal stakes.
CBS and Paramount Home Entertainment release Star Trek: Discovery — Season Four on Blu-ray Disc and DVD Dec. 6. A limited-edition Blu-ray in Steelbook packaging also will be available. The set includes all 13 episodes from the “Star Trek” spinoff that originally streamed exclusively on Paramount+. In the season, the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery investigates an alien threat from outside the galaxy. The cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, David Ajala and Blu del Barrio.
RLJE Films releases Creepshow: Season 3 on DVD and Blu-ray Dec. 6. From AMC Networks’ streaming service Shudder, “Creepshow” is an anthology series based on the 1982 horror comedy classic. A comic book comes to life in a series of vignettes, exploring terrors ranging from murder, creatures, monsters, and delusions to the supernatural and unexplainable. Creepshow: Season 3, consisting of six episodes containing 12 separate stories, is directed by Rusty Cundieff, Greg Nicotero, Joe Lynch, Jeffrey F. January, John Harrison and Axelle Carolyn. The series stars Ali Larter, Justin Long, Anna Camp, and Ethan Embry.
The historical action film Medieval will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc Dec. 6 from Paramount Home Entertainment. Ben Foster (Hell or High Water) and Academy Award Winner Michael Caine (The Cider House Rules) star in the epic inspired by the true story of daring mercenary leader Jan Žižka, one of greatest warriors in history. After the death of its emperor, the Holy Roman Empire plummets into chaos while corrupt kings battle for control of the empty throne. To battle the tyranny and greed of those clawing for power, Jan must lead a rebel army in this sweeping saga of war and betrayal. The film also stars Sophie Lowe, Til Schweiger and Matthew Goode.
The drama Call Jane arrives for digital purchase Dec. 6 from Lionsgate. Inspired by true events of Chicago’s underground abortion network known as The Jane Collective, Call Jane stars Sigourney Weaver, Elizabeth Banks and Kate Mara. Set in Chicago in 1968 as a city and the nation are on the brink of political upheaval, the film follows suburban housewife Joy (Banks), her husband and daughter, who are living the all-American dream until Joy’s life-threatening pregnancy forces her to navigate a medical establishment unwilling to help. This impossible situation leads Joy to the “Janes,” an underground network providing the only available alternative, helmed by fierce advocates Virginia (Weaver) and Gwen (Wunmi Mosaku), who not only save Joy’s life, but change it forever. It arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD Dec. 13.

Paramount Home Entertainment will release the Top Gun 2-Movie 4K Steelbook Superfan Collection across retail channels Dec. 6. Featuring nearly six hours of bonus content, the four-disc collection explores the enduring popularity of the 1986 original movie Top Gun as well as this year’s record-breaking box office sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which has generated more than $1.4 billion in global ticket sales. The collection includes Steelbooks with 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc and regular Blu-ray editions of each movie, access to digital copies, plus Top Gun: Maverick dog tags, a leather “Maverick” keyring, magnetic decals, coasters and photos.
The Korean sci-fi actioner Alienoid will be released on digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD Dec. 6 by Well Go USA Entertainment. Directed by Choi Dong-hoon and starring Ryu Jun-Yeol, Kim Woo-bin and Kim Tae-ri, the feature is the first in a planned series of two epic sci-fi action time-warpers. A tale of two eras, Alienoid follows two Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392) gurus seeking a legendary time-bending blade as they unexpectedly cross paths with modern-era people hunting down a dangerous alien concealed inside a human’s body. It will land on the martial arts action streaming channel Hi-Yah! on Dec. 23.
Writer-director Quentin Tarantino’s 1990s classic Pulp Fiction will be released on 4K digital, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and in a limited-edition collector’s 4K Steelbook Dec. 6 by Paramount Home Entertainment. Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival, the film also won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The film stars John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Maria de Medeiros, Ving Rhames, Eric Stoltz, Rosanna Arquette, Christopher Walken and Bruce Willis. Tarantino delivers an unforgettable cast of characters in the film — including a pair of low-rent hit men (Travolta and Jackson), a gangster’s wife (Thurman), and a desperate prizefighter (Willis) — in a wildly entertaining and exhilarating adventure of violence and redemption.
The 2002 comedy Adaptation is being released on 4K Ultra HD Dec. 6 for its 20th anniversary from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Director Spike Jonze delivers a comedy that blends fictional characters and situations with the lives of real people: obsessive orchid hunter John Laroche (Chris Cooper, in an Academy Award-winning performance, 2002, Best Supporting Actor), New Yorker journalist Susan Orlean (Meryl Streep), Hollywood screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Nicolas Cage) and his twin brother Donald (also Cage). In the film, as Charlie struggles to adapt Orlean’s best-selling book The Orchid Thief, he writes himself into his own movie. The film is newly remastered in 4K resolution from the original camera negative, with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio plus original theatrical 5.1.
The action film Renegades will be available via on demand and digital sellthrough Dec. 6 from Saban Films. In the film, when veteran Green Beret Carver (Lee Majors) is murdered by a drug gang controlled by Goram (Louis Mandylor) that has been threatening his daughter (Patsy Kensit), his old Special Forces comrades (Nick Moran, Ian Ogilvy, Billy Murray, Paul Barber) reunite to seek revenge, aided by the enigmatic Sanchez (Danny Trejo). As the “renegades” dispense their own brand of justice on the mean streets of London with the police (Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott) hot on their trail, they must use every trick in their war hero playbook to stay one step ahead of the sinister gang.
Shout! Studios Dec. 6 releases the documentary With One Tied Hand: The Buffalo Soldiers of World War II through digital retailers. Based on the book by Ivan J. Houston & Gordon Cohn, the film recounts the true stories of a group of brave young African-American soldiers who fought against the Nazi war machine, the Italian fascists, and the deep-rooted racism of their own white officers. Though American veterans liberated others worldwide at immense sacrifice, a little-told American story is the unique liberation of the Tuscan people by the Buffalo Soldiers of World War II, who were sent home to the “Jim Crow” United States.
The coming-of-age drama Reversal will be released for digital purchase and VOD Dec. 6 from Virgil Films and Entertainment. Set in the competitive world of high school wrestling and based on a true story, the story follows Leo Leone, who has been wrestling since he was 7 years old. As the only son of wrestling coach (and ex-state champion) Edward Leone, Leo’s dedication to the sport is tied up in his love for his father. Now Leo is 17. His life has been an endless cycle of training, sacrifice, and starving to make weight — a process that is becoming ever more difficult during adolescence. He’s tired of denying himself everything, and is feeling the lure of a world beyond the mat. Living paycheck to paycheck, working a dead-end job in the mines while coaching for no money, Leo’s father Ed sees a wrestling scholarship as his son’s only chance to escape the treadmill of life in a small Pennsylvania town. But though his motives are good, Ed is pushing his son too hard. As the high school state championships near, the struggle between father and son escalates. The pressure leads Leo into excessive training and life-threatening behavior, and creates rivalries within the team.
XYZ Films will release the supernatural slasher film #FLOAT, the directorial debut from Zac Locke, on VOD Dec. 9. Locke’s writing credits include the 2018 sorority-killings shocker Black Christmas, the comedy-fantasy Country Gold, and The Voyeurs, starring Sydney Sweeney. #FLOAT is about a river trip gone wrong. Vlogger Kali and her friends are heading to the river for their annual float, but it’s the first time since their friend overdosed and drowned last year. Their partying turns deadly as a sinister paranormal force plunges them into a life-and-death struggle. They turn on each other and proceed to die one by one. The film stars Kaya Coleman, Scarlett Sperduto, Grant Morningstar, Kate Mayhew, Matt Wise and Christina Nguyen. With the help of his friends and the love of his girlfriend Shaw, Leo finds the strength to grow up and make serious choices between living his own life or letting his father live through him, following the path prescribed or following his dreams.
Gravitas Ventures offers the feature docudrama I Am DB Cooper slated for theatrical and on-demand release Dec. 9. Written and directed by T.J. Regan, it follows two bounty hunter brothers who encounter an ailing old man named Rodney Bonnifield while coordinating his bail after a violent encounter on a dairy farm involving a machete. Close to his sentencing, he reveals to the bondsmen not only was he responsible for the notorious DB Cooper plane hijacking, but the ransom cash is still buried and he needs their help digging it up. Up against the clock with Rodney’s prison sentence looming, the group set out on a modern-day treasure hunt to recover the money he buried on the Columbia River 50 years ago, uncovering bizarre truths about Rodney Bonnifield and his connection to the only unsolved plane hijacking in U.S. history.
