Lionsgate’s Chaos Walking tops the list of new disc releases May 25, while Sony Pictures’ The Unholy leads the list of new digital releases.
The sci-fi thriller Chaos Walking, starring Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. In the film — based on the best-selling novel The Knife of Never Letting Go and set in the not-too-distant future — Todd Hewitt (Holland) discovers a mysterious girl named Viola (Ridley). She has crash-landed on his planet, where the women have disappeared and the men are afflicted by “The Noise,” a force that puts all their thoughts on display. In this dangerous landscape, Viola’s life is threatened and, to protect her, Todd must discover his inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets.
The Saban Films comedy Happily, starring Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé, will comes out from Paramount Home Entertainment. In the film, a happily married couple (McHale and Bishé) discover their friends are resentful of their lustful relationship. When a visit from a mysterious stranger leads to a dead body, they begin to question the loyalty of their so-called friends.
The Korean box office hit Deliver Us From Evil debuts on digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD May 25 from Well Go USA Entertainment. In the film, after the shocking kidnapping of a little girl in Thailand, a mercenary with a murky past as a government black ops agent is forced to re-emerge from the shadows when he learns the incident is closely connected to him.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment May 25 releases the 15th season of long-running fantasy series “Supernatural” on Blu-ray and DVD. The same day also sees the release of Supernatural: The Complete Series, which contains all 327 episodes from the series, as well as hours of bonus features from all 15 seasons. The complete series also includes a 68-page booklet filled with new images from the series, set designs and letters to the “Supernatural” family from creator Eric Kripke and executive producer Robert Singer.
The horror film The Unholy becomes available for digital purchase May 25 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Based on James Herbert’s best-selling book Shrine, the film follows a young hearing-impaired girl who is visited by the Virgin Mary and can suddenly hear, speak and heal the sick. As people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits a small New England town to investigate. As terrifying events begin to happen all around him, he starts questioning if these miracles are the works of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister. It arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and on demand June 22.

Among catalog releases, Shout! Select releases 1985’s Explorers on Blu-ray for the first time. The film marks the movie debut of both the late River Phoenix and Ethan Hawke. From acclaimed director Joe Dante (Gremlins), Explorers is an action-fantasy that follows the dreams of three curious and adventuresome boys as they become a reality. In their makeshift laboratory, the boys use an amazing discovery and their own ingenuity to build their own spaceship and manage to launch themselves on a fantastic interplanetary journey.
Indie distributor Blue Underground releases the 1980 time travel classic The Final Countdown on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc May 25 through MVD Entertainment Group. The film stars Kirk Douglas as the captain of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Nimitz, which is in the middle of a training exercise when it is transported via a mysterious vortex back in time four decades to just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Joined by his first officer (Ron O’Neal), a defense department expert (Martin Sheen), and an air wing commander (James Farentino) who is also an amateur historian, the captain must decide whether or not to commit the advanced technology of his fighter planes to taking out the Japanese fleet prior to the sneak attack. Also, Paramount Home Entertainment May 25 releases new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc editions of director J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 and 1964 Best Picture Oscar winner My Fair Lady.
Mill Creek Entertainment releases the classic Japanese series “Ultraman Leo” on Blu-ray as both a special-edition Steelbook and in standard packaging on May 25. The seventh and final entry in the first wave of the “Ultraman” series premiered in Japan in April 1974. The mighty hero Ultraseven is crippled while defending the Earth from an invasion by the tyrannical Alien Magma. He is rescued by Gen Otori, a young Ultra warrior who had fled to Earth following the destruction of his home world, Planet L77 in the Leo constellation. Unable to return to his giant form, the injured Ultraseven resumes his human identity of Dan Moroboshi and trains Gen to become the next Ultra Hero — Ultraman Leo.
