Hulu has hired Barbara Fiorentino as its first head of talent and casting. Fiorentino will help the over-the-top video subscription service identify emerging talent and help expand diversity and inclusivity in its content hiring.

The SVOD service – which has 25 million subscribers and is co-owned by Fox, Disney, Comcast and WarnerMedia – said Fiorentino reports to Beatrice Springborn, VP of Originals, in Santa Monica, Calif.
Fiorentino, who has operated her own casting agency since 1999, brings her assistant Terese Classen with her to the new position.
Casting credits include TV shows “Thirteen Reasons Why,” “Lethal Weapon,” “UnReal,” and “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.” She also reportedly served as a consultant for pending Hulu series, “Wu-Tang: An American Saga.”
