‘Scooby-Doo’ Goes Medieval in New Movie

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release the new animated movie Scooby-Doo! — The Sword and the Scoob on DVD and through digital retailers Feb. 23, 2021.

The latest direct-to-video “Scooby-Doo!” adventure finds the Mystery Inc. gang transported to Camelot during the Middle Ages, where they meet King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. When an evil sorceress tries to seize power, King Arthur turns to the super-sleuth team for help to save his throne.

Voices include Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo/Fred Jones, Grey Griffin as Daphne Blake, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy Rogers and Kate Micucci as Velma Dinkley. The film also features Jason Isaacs as King Arthur Pendragon and Nick Frost as Merlin.

‘Kid Who Would Be King’ on Disc April 16

The family adventure The Kid Who Would Be King will arrive on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray April 16 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Based on the legend of Camelot and set in the modern world, the film involves a 12-year-old (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) who stumbles upon the mythical sword Excalibur. With the help of Merlin (Angus Imrie), he must unite the students at his school against the enchantress Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson).

Extras include deleted scenes and the featurettes “Origins of a King,” “Young Knights” and “Merlin’s Magic,” plus hair, makeup and costume tests. The Blu-ray and select digital accounts will also include a “Be the King” music video by Lay Lay, plus the featurettes “Knight School,” “The Two Merlins,” “Meet Morgana” and “Movie Magic.”

The film will be available for digital purchase April 2.
