Vietnamese Action Thriller ‘Head Rush’ Due on Digital Dec. 27 From Distribution Solutions

Glass House Distribution’s Vietnamese action thriller Head Rush will be released through digital retailers Dec. 27 by Distribution Solutions. 

The adventure follows a man dying of a terminal illness who receives an experimental medical treatment and soon discovers he has superhuman powers. But the origins of the treatment are intertwined in a dark history that begins to unravel his life.

Written and directed by Vietnamese director Victor Vu, the Official Selection for the Fantasia International Film Festival stars Cuong Seven (The Immortal, The Talent), Tran Thi Nha Phuong (Kiss & Tell, 1990) and Ngoc Anh Vu (Of Us & June, Berlin Wall). 

Action scenes were choreographed by Vincent Wang, a Hollywood fight and action scene choreographer whose worked on Marvel films Doctor Strange, Thor and Captain America.

Heist Thriller ‘Bitcon’ Due on Digital and DVD Oct. 18 From Mill Creek

The crime thriller Bitcon will be released on digital and DVD Oct. 18 from Mill Creek Entertainment, a division of Alliance Entertainment.

The cryptocurrency heist story stars Jeremy Davies (Twister, TV’s “Lost,” Saving Private Ryan), Tom Cavanagh (TV’s “Scrubs,” “Ed,” “The Flash”), Noah Anderson (Realm of Shadows, Broken Cross), Ella Ma (Bridge and Tunnel), and Frank Whaley (Field of Dreams, Pulp Fiction), and is directed by Matt Osterman (400 Days, Hover).

In the film, Lew Harbour (Emmy Award winner Davies) has a good problem for a bad person. He just received the biggest score of his life and needs to hide the money ASAP. Enter reformed criminal and current Bitcoin miner Ty Adams (Anderson). Ty initially refuses his offer to launder the money, but Lew’s guarded girlfriend Jess (Ma) engineers the situation to get him on board. When the hard drive containing the keys to the $800,000 in Bitcoin goes missing, Lew and his deadly partner (Bohne) suspect Ty of double-crossing them. As the value of Bitcoin skyrockets, the pressure is on, forcing Ty to turn to a network of thieves and dirty cops (Whaley) in order to get out alive.

Archstone’s ‘The Legend of Hawes’ Due on Digital Sept. 13 From Distribution Solutions

Archstone’s horror-in-the-Old-West title The Legend of Hawes will be released for digital purchase Sept. 13 from Distribution Solutions, a division of Alliance Entertainment.

In the film, a mountain homestead is attacked by a raiding party made up of ravenous marauders. The lone survivor, a beautiful young woman, hires a dangerous gunman to help her track and exact revenge on the marauders. Together they trek to a forbidding mountain only to find that the savage marauders have a deadly secret.

Written and directed by indie horror filmmaker Rene Perez (The Insurrection, The Snow Queen, Once Upon a Time in Deadwood), The Legend of Hawes stars Emily Whitcomb (The Vampire and the Vigilante, Serious Profession), Mike Markoff (Escape to the Cove, Death Squad), Richard Tyson (Black Hawn Down, There’s Something About Mary) and Karin Brauns (The Obsidian Curse).

Doc ‘To Decadence With Love, Thanks for Everything!’ Due on Digital May 3

Mutiny Pictures’ documentary To Decadence with Love, Thanks for Everything! will be released through digital retailers May 3 from Distribution Solutions.

Directed by Stuart Sox, the documentary follows the intimate and personal experience of professional drag queens Laveau Contraire and Franky Canga as they prepare for a weekend at the Southern Decadence festival in New Orleans. Founded 50 years ago, Southern Decadence now boasts more than 300,000 LGBTQ attendees over one weekend throughout the lively streets of New Orleans’ French Quarters. The film, which takes a deep look into queer culture and the strength of community in the South, was a New Orleans Film Festival 2021 Winner and was featured at the San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival 2021.

Distribution Solutions Inks Distribution Deal With Glass House

Distribution Solutions, a division of Alliance Entertainment, has inked a deal to handle digital and physical sales, distribution, and marketing of Glass House Distribution sellthrough releases in the United States and Canada.

Glass House Distribution has a wide-ranging collection of films and television including comedies “Me, Myself, and Di,” “About Hope,” and “Canadian Strain”; dramas “Skipping Stones,” “Shuttlecock” and “Gutterbug”; horror titles including La Patasola, If She Screams and Infrared Dreams; and thriller, science fiction, family and documentary titles.

“What Glass House Distribution brings to the table with their extensive catalog of feature films and television has us thrilled to partner in business with them,” Distribution Solutions president Ben Means said in a statement. “They are a company founded by filmmakers, so their depth of knowledge into representing quality film and TV is unparalleled.”

Based in New York and Los Angeles, Glass House was founded by Tom Malloy and Bryan Glass in 2015.

“We’re very excited to work with Distribution Solutions and to be able to allow films to reach more platforms and a bigger audience,” said president and co-founder Malloy.

Distribution Solutions will bow its first Glass House release Jan. 7.

Distribution Solutions in Physical Media Partnership With Vertical

Distribution Solutions, a division of Alliance Entertainment, has entered into a physical media partnership with domestic distributor Vertical Entertainment.

Distribution Solutions will handle trade marketing, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, VMI systems and management, returns processing, credit and collections, and reporting of Vertical physical sellthrough releases in the United States and Canada, and will work hand-in-hand with Vertical partner Mitch Budin, according to Distribution Solutions.

“Partnering with Vertical Entertainment is very exciting for us,” Distribution Solutions president Ben Means said in a statement. “They bring an impressive catalog of over 300 films that we look forward to putting on shelves to maximize the success of their physical releases.”

Notable films from Vertical include Out of Death (starring Bruce Willis) available on DVD and Blu-ray Sept. 14 under the agreement, Joe Bell (starring Mark Wahlberg), Four Good Days (starring Glenn Close and Mila Kunis), Capone (starring Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, and Matt Dillon) and Ava (starring Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell).
