The Roku Channel to Exclusively Stream Cartoon Network’s ‘Adult Swim Festival’ on Sept. 23

Roku Sept. 20 announced that The Roku Channel will be the exclusive AVOD partner for the Adult Swim Festival, a three-part special featuring performances from Cartoon Network’s live event that took place in Philadelphia in August. The special will be available to stream starting Sept. 23.

This year’s Adult Swim Festival was headlined by Run the Jewels, Tierra Whack, and Dethklok and held in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood. Backstage interviews include performers El-P and Killer Mike of Run The Jewels and Tierra Whack.

“This year’s Adult Swim Festival was particularly special as it marked our return to live-events, and our first time bringing the Festival to the East Coast,” Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, said in a statement.

The Roku Channel will also offer more than 120 select episodes from more than 16 Adult Swim series, including “Vindicators 2,” the digital spin-off to the animated HBO Max comedy “Rick and Morty,” the “Rick and Morty”-inspired anime shorts, and the “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” digital spin-off, “Aquadonk Side Pieces,” alongside episodes of Adult Swim series “Robot Chicken,” Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Primal,” and “Metalocalypse,” among others.

Roku’s license rights to Adult Swim continues Warner Bros. Discovery’s strategy of farming out select content to third party platforms beyond its proprietary HBO Max platform.
