‘Cloverfield’ Headed to 4K Ultra HD Steelbook Jan. 17 for 15th Anniversary

The horror actioner Cloverfield will be released on 4K Ultra HD Steelbook Jan. 17 from Paramount Home Entertainment for its 15th anniversary. 

Produced by J.J. Abrams and directed by Matt Reeves (The Batman), the film debuted in the United States on Jan. 18, 2008, and ultimately earned more than $172 million worldwide on a $25 million budget. 

Cloverfield chronicles a first-person video account of a horrifying attack on Manhattan by an unknown — and seemingly unstoppable — force.

The limited-edition 4K Ultra HD Steelbook includes new artwork reviewed and approved by both Abrams and Reeves, the film on both 4K Ultra HD Disc and Blu-ray, and access to a digital copy. Legacy bonus features on the Blu-ray include alternate endings, deleted scenes, director’s commentary, Easter eggs and making-of featurettes.

1998 Crime Thriller ‘Belly’ Due on 4K Ultra HD Jan. 24

Featuring performances from rappers Nas and DMX, Belly (1998) arrives for the first time in 4K Ultra High Definition Jan. 24 from Lionsgate.

The title will also be available as a Best Buy exclusive 4K Ultra HD (plus Blu-ray plus digital) Steelbook.

Written and directed by Hype Williams — Award for Achievement in Music Videos at the 30th annual EnergaCamerimage Cinematography Festival (2022), MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award (2003) — Belly is an urban crime-thriller.

In the film, as gang leader Tommy (Earl “DMX” Simmons) looks to expand his turf by dealing a new form of heroin, his friend Sincere (Nasir “Nas” Jones) dreams of escaping the gangster life with his girlfriend and baby daughter. After a drug house operated by Tommy is raided, he and Sincere — now pursued by both the police and rival gangs — each find themselves on a course that will either lead to redemption or ruin.

Steelbook special features include audio commentary with Williams, “Spoken Word” (Blu-ray only), a deleted scene (Blu-ray only) and the “Grand Finale” music video (Blu-ray only).

‘Air Force One’ and ‘The Mask of Zorro’ Due on 4K Ultra HD Steelbook March 7

The action classics Air Force One and The Mask of Zorro will be released on 4K Ultra HD Steelbook March 7 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Both titles feature Dolby Vision HDR.

Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman star in director Wolfgang Petersen’s (Das Boot, In the Line of Fire) thriller Air Force One (1997), about a steadfast U.S. President who has just told the world he will not negotiate with terrorists. When Russian neo-nationalists hijack Air Force One, the President is faced with a nearly impossible decision — give in to terrorist demands or sacrifice not only the country’s dignity, but the lives of his wife and daughter. Special features on the 4K disc include the theatrical trailer. Special features on the Blu-ray disc include commentary with Petersen.

The Mask of Zorro (1998) is celebrating its 25th anniversary. In the film, when a power-crazed despot schemes to buy California from Mexico, it takes two Zorros — the legendary Don Diego de la Vega (Anthony Hopkins) and his chosen successor Alejandro Murrieta (Antonio Banderas), a dashing bandit-turned-hero — to battle the tyrant’s unscrupulous plans. Can even their combined skills, bravado and derring-do be enough to achieve de la Vega’s ultimate goal: revenge against the man who killed his wife, kidnapped his daughter and held him prisoner for 20 years? Special features on the 4K disc include 10 deleted scenes and theatrical trailers. Special features on the Blu-ray disc include commentary with director Martin Campbell; the “Unmasking Zorro” documentary; two additional deleted scenes; and a music video by Marc Anthony and Tina Arena.

Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ Headed to 4K Ultra HD Dec. 6

Writer-director Quentin Tarantino’s 1990s classic Pulp Fiction will be released on 4K digital, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and in a limited-edition collector’s 4K Steelbook Dec. 6 by Paramount Home Entertainment.

Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival, the film also won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The film stars John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Maria de Medeiros, Ving Rhames, Eric Stoltz, Rosanna Arquette, Christopher Walken and Bruce Willis.

Tarantino delivers an unforgettable cast of characters in the film — including a pair of low-rent hit men (Travolta and Jackson), a gangster’s wife (Thurman), and a desperate prizefighter (Willis) — in a wildly entertaining and exhilarating adventure of violence and redemption.

‘Scream 2’ Headed to 4K Ultra HD Oct. 4 From Paramount

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the sequel Scream 2 arrives on 4K Ultra HD for the first time on Oct. 4 from Paramount Home Entertainment.

Originally released on Dec. 12, 1997, in the United States, Scream 2 has been newly remastered in 4K and will be released both for digital purchase and in a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray set that includes legacy bonus content, as well as access to a digital copy of the film. The discs will be available in both standard and Steelbook packaging.

In the film, away at college, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) thinks she’s finally put the shocking murders that shattered her life behind her — until a copycat killer begins acting out a real-life sequel.

Now, as history eerily repeats itself, ambitious reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox), Deputy Dewey (David Arquette) and other Scream survivors find themselves trapped in a terrifyingly clever plotline where no one is safe or beyond suspicion.

Paramount Releasing Both ‘Top Gun’ Movies in a Limited-Edition 4K Blu-ray Disc Steelbook Collection Dec. 6

Paramount Home Entertainment will release the Top Gun 2-Movie 4K Steelbook Superfan Collection across retail channels Dec. 6.

Featuring nearly six hours of bonus content, the four-disc collection explores the enduring popularity of the 1986 original movie Top Gun as well as this year’s record-breaking box office sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which has generated more than $1.4 billion in global ticket sales.

The collection includes Steelbooks with 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc and regular Blu-ray editions of each movie, access to digital copies, plus Top Gun: Maverick dog tags, a leather “Maverick” keyring, magnetic decals, coasters and photos.

Top Gun bonus content includes commentary by producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott, co-screenwriter Jack Epps Jr., and naval experts.
