Shout! Studios Gets Home Entertainment Rights to Ledafilms’ ‘Mia and the White Lion’

Shout! Studios, the multi-platform filmed entertainment distribution and production arm of Shout! Factory, has signed a distribution agreement with Ledafilms Entertainment Group to bring the family film Mia and the White Lion to the home entertainment marketplace in the United States.
The film depicts the friendship between a young girl and a white lion, and an adventure in the South African savanna to find her friend a new home. Brought to life by French director Gilles De Maistre, the film stars Daniah De Villiers, Mélanie Laurent, Langley Kirkwood and Ryan Mac Lennan.

Shout! Studios’ distribution rights include transactional video on demand and physical home video. The film was released in theaters April 12 and Shout plans a strategic launch across multiple entertainment platforms this summer.
“There is a winsome combination of heart, soul, and animal adventure, and we believe this film will strongly resonate with the family audience,” said Melissa Boag, Shout SVP of kids and family entertainment.
Shout! Factory will release the film on Blu-ray, DVD and digitally July 2.
