Shout! Factory Teams With MLB to Release Official 2022 World Series Film

The official 2022 World Series film will be released to home audiences Dec. 13 by Shout! Factory and Major League Baseball.
The 2022 World Series will be available on DVD, as a two-disc Blu-ray + DVD combo pack, and through digital retailers.
Also available is The 2022 World Series Collector’s Edition: Houston Astros, an eight-disc collection of the entire series, which was held Oct. 28 through Nov. 5.
The Astros clinched the title after Yordan Alvarez’s 450-foot, three-run moonshot gave them a Game 6 lead it wouldn’t relinquish. The Astros became the first team to seal their World Series championship in their home stadium in nearly a decade. The World Series film is narrated by Astros superfan rapper Bun B.
Under the guidance of manager Dusty Baker, the Astros delivered what many sports columnists hailed as one of the finest seasons in MLB history. After sweeping the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS and the New York Yankees in the ALCS, their showdown was set against the hard-hitting Philadelphia Phillies. And though Philadelphia would jump out to a 2 games to 1 lead, the Astros lifted off behind a stellar bullpen; the second no-hitter in World Series history; and a sensational offense. After a resounding Game 6 victory at Minute Maid Park, Baker earned his long-awaited first World Series ring as manager.
The official World Series film is an annual tradition that dates back to 1943, when the U.S. State Department commissioned Major League Baseball to produce a recap of the World Series for troops overseas.
This year’s 2022 World Series film comes with assorted bonus features, including a compilation of 2022 walk-offs, clinching moments and featurettes on “How They Got There” and Baker’s 2,000th win as a manager.
The eight-disc set includes the official World Series film as well as all six games in the Fall Classic, along with a bonus disc featuring the pennant-clinching ALCS Game 4 vs. the Yankees. It also includes SleeveStats inserts, which offer official stats and game trivia to enhance the viewing experience. Each World Series game includes four audio options, allowing home audiences to watch the games while listening to the television broadcast, the Houston Astros Radio Network, Philadelphia Phillies Radio Network or a Spanish-language version of the broadcasts.
