‘Rambo: Last Blood’ Tops Disc Sales Charts in Its Second Week

Lionsgate’s Rambo: Last Blood topped the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended Dec. 28.

The action sequel had debuted a week earlier as the top Blu-ray but was No. 2 on the overall sales chart.

In fact, the top five titles on each chart remained the same from the previous week, just in a different order.

The previous week’s top overall seller, Universal’s Downton Abbey, slipped to No. 2 overall and No. 4 on the Blu-ray chart.

DreamWorks Animation’s Abominable, another Universal-distributed title, remained No. 3 on the overall sales chart and rose a spot to No. 2 on the Blu-ray chart.

Warner’s It: Chapter Two remained No. 4 overall and rose to No. 3 on the Blu-ray chart.

Sony Pictures’ Overcomer remained No. 5 overall, but slid to No. 10 on the Blu-ray chart.

The no. 5 Blu-ray remained Sony Pictures’ Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which was No. 6 overall.

The top new release for the week was Lionsgate’s Judy, a Judy Garland biopic starring Renée Zellweger. It debuted at No. 33.

On the Media Play News rental chart for the week ended Dec. 29, the top five titles were the same, but slightly rearranged from the previous week.

Rambo: Last Blood was again No. 1, and Abominable was again No. 2.

Universal’s Hustlers rose a spot to No. 3, while Once Upon a Time in Hollywood rose a spot to No. 4.

Fox’s Ad Astra slipped two spots to No. 5.
