‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ Remains No. 1 on Disc Sales Charts

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Puss in Boots: The Last Wish remained No. 1 on the Circana VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart for the week ended March 11.
The DreamWorks Animation sequel to 2011’s Puss in Boots finds the swashbuckling title hero confronting mortality as he searches for a magical star that can restore his nine lives, earned $180.8 million at the domestic box office.
However, with just 8% of its total unit sales coming from the 4K Ultra HD disc, it was only No. 2 on the dedicated 4K disc chart.
The top 4K seller was the No. 2 title on both the overall disc and Blu-ray charts: Disney-owned Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It was up one spot on the overall chart from the previous week.
No. 2 on both the overall and Blu-ray charts was Paramount’s Devotion, down one spot from the previous week.

No. 4 on both charts was Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick.
The No. 5 overall disc seller was Warner’s Black Adam, which was No. 6 on the Blu-ray chart.
The No. 5 Blu-ray seller was Lionsgate’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, which was No. 9 on the overall disc chart. The film got a boost in the lead up to the March 12 Oscar ceremony, where it was the favorite to win Best Picture (which it ended up winning).
On the 4K chart, No. 3 and No. 5 were two films recently released in new Steelbook editions by Sony Pictures: Air Force One and The Mask of Zorro, respectively. In between them on the 4K chart at No. 4 was the Best Buy-exclusive Rocky II Steelbook.
The Media Play News rental chart for the week ended March 12 also had Puss in Boots: The Last Wish at No. 1 for a second week, with Devotion staying at No. 2.
No. 3 was Screen Media’s The Ritual Killer, followed by Lionsgate’s The Old Way at No. 4, and Sony Pictures’ Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody at No. 5.
