Paramount Global’s Tom Ryan Given Inaugural NATPE Award for Leadership in Global Streaming

Tom Ryan, president/CEO of Paramount Global Streaming, was awarded the National Association of Television Program Executives’ (NATPE) inaugural “Award for Executive Leadership in Global Streaming” Sept. 29 at the NATPE Streaming Plus confab at the W Hotel in Los Angeles.

Ryan, who co-founded Pluto TV and then sold it to the former ViacomCBS for $340 million in 2019, was joined on stage by senior Paramount streaming executives, in addition to video and live speeches and tributes from Drew Barrymore, Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish, Rick Lewis (USVP/first investor in Pluto TV) and Jeff Shultz, chief business officer and chief strategy officer for Paramount Streaming.

Also in attendance were Rick Lewis, general partner, USVP; Vibol Hou, CTO of Paramount Streaming; Tanya Giles, chief programming officer for Paramount Streaming; George Cheeks, president and CEO of CBS Entertainment, and chief content officer for news and sports at Paramount +; Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount Television Studios and Paramount + original scripted series; and Rob Gellick, chief product officer for Paramount Streaming.
