

Nielsen: Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ Topped Weekly Household TV Streaming Through Nov. 20

Second week access to the fifth season of Netflix’s British royal family drama, “The Crown” proved a charm with streamers, generating more than 1.7 billion minutes consumed across 50 episodes for the week ended Nov. 20, according to new data from Nielsen.
The prior-week debut of season five, featuring Academy Award-nominee Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, generated almost 2.3 billion minutes finishing No. 2 behind season four debut of “Manifest.”
The Crown edged the premiere of the third and final season of “Dead to Me,” starring Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini and James Marsden, which saw almost 1.4 billion minutes streamed across 30 episodes. “Manifest” finished No. 3 with almost 1.3 billion minutes.
Netflix’s exclusive access to Sony Pictures movies continues to resonate with streamers as Where the Crawdads Sing realized more than 1 billion minutes consumed in its second week on the platform. The movie generated 659 million minutes in its Netflix debut the prior week.
