The Netflix original series “Ozark” set a streaming record the last week of January when all four seasons (37 episodes), led by the release of “Ozark” season four part one topped 4 billion minutes streamed — the fourth highest ever recorded, according to new data from Nielsen. Disney’s animated movie musical Encanto was the runner-up with more than 1.3 billion minutes streamed.
“The other three times [content topped 4 billion minutes] was during the pandemic, during the lockdown, twice by Netflix’s ‘Tiger King,’ and one other time by ‘Ozark,'” Brian Fuhrer, Nielsen SVP of product strategy said on the comany’s webcast. “So ‘Ozark’ repeats in the 4 billion club, which is very rare.”
