

Netflix: ‘You People’ Again Tops Weekly Streaming Chart Through Feb. 5

The romantic comedy You People, in which couples (Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny, and Eddie Murphy and Nia Long) from different ethnic worlds spar when their kids (Jonah Hill and Lauren London) begin dating, for a second week topped Netflix weekly streaming. The feature tallied 65.61 million hours streamed across 64 countries for the week ended Feb. 5.
Co-written by Kenya Barris and Hill, the viewing hours topped the previous-week’s movie debut by 18% from 55.61 million hours.
The Pamela Anderson documentary Pamela, a Love Story topped six first-time film releases with 24.3 million hours, ahead of Netflix’s debut of Universal Pictures licensed movie Minions: The Rise of Gru with 19.36 million hours.
“Lockwood & Co.,” starring Ruby Stokes, Cameron Chapman and Ali-Hadji Heshmati, topped English-language episodic programming with 39.42 million hours viewed. That was good enough to hold off perennial chart toppers “Ginny & Georgia” (38 million hours viewed) and “Wednesday” (28.2 million hours). The show now enters Netflix’s all-time top 10 with 504.77 million hours streamed in the first 28 days of release.
“Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, sits at No. 2 all-time (behind Stranger Things 4) with 1.23 billion hours viewed.
Norwegian Werewolf thriller Viking Wolf topped the non-English language movie list with 28 million hours streamed across 89 countries, ahead of Spanish newcomer Infiesto with 12.6 million hours, and military drama Narvik with 9.9 million.
Spanish mystery “The Snow Girl” topped all non-English language episodic programming with more than 50.24 million hours streamed across 77 countries in its second week of release. South Korea’s “Physical: 100” finished No. 2 with 31.3 million hours, while the third season of longtime Mexican heist drama “La Reina del Sur” added more than 25.7 million hours in its sixth week of release.
