

Netflix: ‘You People,’ ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Topped Weekly Streaming Through Jan. 29

New romantic comedy You People, in which married couples (Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny, and Eddie Murphy and Nia Long) from very different worlds collide when their kids (Jonah Hill and Lauren London) fall in love, held off previous week(s) chart topper, “Ginny & Georgia,” as the most-streamed Netflix content for the week ended Jan. 29.
Co-written by Kenya Barris and Hill, the movie debuted on the English-language movies chart with 55.65 million hours viewed — just 40,000 hours more than “Ginny & Georgia” with 55.61 million hours.
The series now has 486.2 million total hours viewed, which is just outside Netflix’s top 10 all-time most-streamed episodic content.
Norwegian WW2 drama Narvik reached almost 38 million hours viewed in its debut as the most-streamed non-English-language movie, while season three of Mexican drama “La Reina del Sur” added another 37.5 million hours viewed to top the non-English-language TV chart.
Other notable chart movers included the German WW1 drama All Quiet on the Western Front, which saw its weekly viewership spike more than 190% after the movie garnered nine Academy Award nominations, including for Best Picture. The German WW1 drama added 8.17 million hours viewed and was in the Top 10 in 33 countries. Separately, South Korean sci-fi thriller JUNG_E (17.6 million hours), Indian action-adventure Mission Majnu (10.3 million) Norway’s Troll (2.6 million) and Italy’s My Name is Vendetta (2 million) all remained on the chart. Italian comedy The Price of Family debuted on the list with 6.34 million hours viewed.
On the English-language movie chart, Oscar-nominated Glass Onion (9.7 million hours), family film Dog Gone (5.8 million), thriller A Pale Blue Eye (12.7 million) and Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical (4.6 million) all remained on the chart. Korean War drama Devotion debuted on the chart with 5.9 million hours viewed.
Glass Onion is now No. 4 on Netflix all-time most-streamed English-language movie chart with almost 280 million hours streamed in the first 28 days of release.
On the English-language TV chart, perennial chart topper “Wednesday” remained No. 2 spot with 35.9 million hours viewed, while Season 1 of “Ginny & Georgia” (31.14 million hours viewed), “That ’90s Show” (26.25 million hours viewed), season two of “Vikings: Valhalla” (25.12 million hours) and “Kaleidoscope” (12.11 million hours) all returned to the list.
New TV chart entrants included supernatural adventure series “Lockwood & Co.” with 25.12 million hours viewed, followed by “Bling Empire: New York” with 14.28 million hours, and season two of reality baking series “Bake Squad” with 13.04 million hours.
On the non-English language TV chart, Turkish fantasy drama series, Shahmaran was No. 2 with almost 34 million hours viewed. South Korea’s “The Glory” (17.4 million) and “Alchemy of Souls” Part 1″ (14.9 million) remained on the chart, while newcomers included Spanish mystery, “The Snow Girl” (31.8 million), season two of Japanese anime “Record of Ragnarok” (29.2 million), Brazilian drama “The Endless Night” (28.3 million) and Korean competition reality show “Physical 100″ with 22.5 million hours viewed.
