Netflix’s new original sci-fi dark comedy Don’t Look Up topped the streamer’s weekly top 10 chart (through Dec. 26) with 111 million hours viewed across 94 countries. Featuring an ensemble cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett, the movie showcases two low-level astronomers embarking on a global media tour to warn people about a planet-killing comet hurtling toward earth.
The movie dwarfed the previous week’s chart topper, The Unforgivable, starring Sandra Bullock, which tracked more than 26 million hours in its third week of release. The drama, with 186.9 million hours after three weeks, marks Bullock’s second movie after Bird Box (282 million hours) to rank among Netflix’s top 10 most popular English-language films within its first 28 days of release.
Other Netflix charting titles included: Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (26.5 million hours), Back to the Outback (24.7 million), Spider-Man: Homecoming (20 million), The Christmas Chronicles (12.9 million), Red Notice (12.1 million), A California Christmas: City Lights (11.6 million), The Christmas Chronicles Part Two (10.9 million) and A Boy Called Christmas (9.1 million).
