The new limited series “Inventing Anna” leaped to the top of Netflix’s weekly top 10 chart for most-streamed TV shows in its first week with more than 77 million hours viewed across 88 countries through Feb. 13.
In “Inventing Anna,” a journalist (Anna Chlumsky) with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey (played by Julia Garner), the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene — and stole their money as well.
The series topped season two of “Sweet Magnolias” with 58 million hours across 64 countries in its second week of release, and season two of “Raising Dion” with 30 million hours across 40 countries.
Among English-language documentaries, The Tinder Swindler retained its spot atop Netflix’s chart with almost 65 million hours streamed across 94 countries in its second week of release. The two-hour film follows the true story of a serial con artist who stole an estimated$10 million from women he met on the Tinder dating app.
The program bested the first-week release of Tall Girl 2, which tracked 27 million hours across 87 countries, and the second week of 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi with 13 million hours across 45 countries.
