In addition to more than 72 million subscribers internationally, Netflix is quietly adding management outside the United States as it expands regional original content production.
In July the SVOD pioneer hired veteran U.K. executive Jason Crosby as director, unscripted, comedy & docs production for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Crosby spent more than six years as COO at Monkey Kingdom, the British reality TV production company owned by NBC Universal and known for series such as “Made in Chelsea,” “The Question Jury,” “TFI Friday,” and “The Charlotte Church Show,” among others.
In August, Netflix named British national Rachel Whetstone as its new chief communications officer. And seeking to better coordinate original content production in Europe, Netflix in July announced the establishment of its first overseas production hub in Madrid.
