WarnerMedia’s pending SVOD service HBO Max Jan. 23 announced the hiring of Pia Chaozon Barlow, who for the past five years has spearheaded nonfiction marketing at Netflix.
Prior to Netflix, Chaozon Barlow held the title of director of advertising & promotions at HBO. Now at HBO Max, she will be SVP of program marketing.

“Pia’s innovative thinking, proven track record, collaborative spirit, and institutional knowledge of the streaming business will add tremendous value to our team as we build a new brand of Originals to differentiate HBO Max.”
Chaozon Barlow will be teamed with Peter Sherman, SVP, program marketing for HBO Max originals, tasked with helping to promote the streaming platform’s slate of new releases across multiple genres.
At Netflix, she oversaw marketing efforts for “Queer Eye,” “Chef’s Table,” “Nailed It!,” “Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé,” “Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones” and “Making a Murderer,” among others.
