Netflix is reportedly considering adding a feature that would enable subscribers to access bonus material such as production outtakes, cast interviews, bloopers and related video for its original shows — a strategy long associated with physical discs.
Dubbed “N-Plus,” the feature would also include podcasts, do-it-yourself content and user-generated music play lists, among other options. Netflix currently streams some of this content as promotional material on YouTube.
“N-Plus is a future online space where you can learn more about the Netflix shows you love and anything related to them,” read a survey to Netflix subscribers, first reported by Protocol.
“You might get to N-Plus when you Google search for anything about a show or actors from a show you’re interested in, or you might find links to it in messages you get from Netflix, or there might be a link to it on pages inside the Netflix app,” the survey said.
The SVOD pioneer is always fiddling with its service, including testing price hikes and mobile-only service and options that sometimes never see the light of day, such as the ill-fated Qwikster by-mail DVD spin-off service in the United States.
