Merchandising: Best Buy Steelbook Preorders Include ‘Cruella,’ ‘F9’

Without any exclusives for the Aug. 24 new releases, Best Buy touted a slew of upcoming Steelbook editions available for preorder.

Among the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbooks listed at Best Buy’s website are Zack Snyder’s Justice League, due Sept. 7 at $35.99 from Warner; Disney’s Cruella, due Sept. 21 at $34.99;  Universal’s F9: The Fast Saga, due Sept. 21 at $34.99; Warner’s Space Jam: A New Legacy, due Oct. 5 at $35.99; and Paramount’s Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, due Oct. 19 at $33.99.

Catalog titles getting Steelbook editions include Universal’s Vertigo, the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock film, as a 4K Steelbook Sept. 7 at $26.99; Disney’s Unbreakable, a 4K Steelbook due Sept. 21 at $29.99; Lionsgate’s 3 From Hell, a 4K Steelbook due Sept. 28 at $19.99; Lionsgate’s American Psycho 4K Steelbook due Oct. 15 at $19.99; and Paramount’s Friday the 13th 8-Movie Collection Blu-ray Steelbook due Oct. 12 at $59.99.

Walmart offered an exclusive $22.96 DVD set of the three “Conjuring” films, as the third film, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, arrived at retail Aug. 24 from Warner. Only the Blu-ray set of the trilogy was widely released.

Target during the week held a summer movie sale, with titles as low as $10, including Spider-Man: Far From Home, Venom and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Blu-rays, and Hotel Transylvania 3-Movie DVD Collection, all from Sony Pictures. Disney’s Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon were offered at $15 each.
